Job Description
Visa's North America Merchant- Sales Strategy team is tasked with selling Visa acceptance, products and service offerings into targeted merchants.
The MBA Intern will work closely with internal partners and their clients to ensure appropriate communication flows and sustained business relationships.
This role is responsible for supporting client relationships and support of strategies to increase revenues from securing expanded use of Visa products and services in the Restaurant, Fuel/Convenience Store, Bill Payment or Retail Segments.
Key Functions and Day-to-Day Tasks May Include:
- Developing account plans to increase sales volume and market share
- Creating materials that deliver value propositions relevant to industry needs
- Researching the client/merchant landscape and recommending new and creative approaches to grow the Visa business
- Contributing to the development of functional strategy
- Working closely with Product Management, Interchange, Compliance and other functions to understand all aspects of acceptance and products being sold to clients and contributing to crafting sales messages
- Actively participating and leading various ad-hoc internal projects as assigned
- Participating in sales meetings and training activities
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Students pursuing a MBA Degree with a graduation date between December 2021 - August 2022.
- Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of business experience, preferably in payments, financial services, or retail consumer sales.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to think on your feet, pivoting quickly, and making decisions on the fly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Salesforce a plus.
- Knowledge of payment industry products, services and technologies, eCommerce, or mobile technology.
- A proven track record of delivering high impact results working on projects in the areas of strategy, growth initiatives and new market/segment/business strategies.
- Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen; superior problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
- Creativity and resourcefulness to overcome unexpected roadblocks.
- An ability to challenge preconceived attitudes and behaviors and shape future thinking.

Work Hours:
Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.
Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
Travel: Incumbent must be able to travel less than 10%
