Job Description

Team Summary

The Japan Processing Solutions team drives all aspects of commercial and operational solutions in Global Network Processing (VisaNet), Acquirer processing, and Issuer Processing in the Japan market.  The team engages in strategy development, product localization, project management, business development, partnership development, client engagement, operational management, and provides comprehensive and robust payment platform solutions.

Reporting to the Head of Processing Solutions, Japan, the team matrix reports to both Global Processing and the Japan Product organization.  This helps our clients enjoy the latest global processing products while catering to local requirements. 

 

What a Senior Manager, Processing Solutions does at Visa:

As a senior manager in Processing Solutions team, you will be the SME of VisaNet, our world leading payment processing network.  You will introduce the latest network products and capabilities to our internal and external partners, and guide them to build the optimal payment platform.

Leveraging your deep understanding of the payments landscape and processing infrastructure, you will play a key role to drive end-to-end processing solutions and support clients’ payment business needs.  You will work closely with issuers, acquirers, processors, domestic switching providers, eCommerce gateways, and technology partners to implement the best payment platform solutions.

Your specific responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with regional and global counterparts to drive product localization, and develop Japan specific use cases with our stakeholders to address the market needs

  • Understand local processing practices and requirements, as well as global best practice to respond to technical challenges related to VisaNet and issuer/acquirer processing 

  • Identify business opportunities in the area of processing and payments infrastructure

  • Build and manage processing partnerships with global and local market players

  • Proactively engage Client Relationship managers and Client Services team to identify business opportunities to grow the market

  • Coordinate with regional and global teams to build market specific processing solutions

  • Collaborate with issuer, acquirer, and fintech client teams to construct end-to-end value propositions and solutions

  • Stay up to date with payments industry and client trends and maintain a strong knowledge of Visa products and VisaNet services

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 7+ years of working experience in the payments or financial industry, including 3+ years in product management, project management, and/or management consulting

  • Experience working with local issuer/acquirer processors, payment infrastructure, domestic switching providers

  • Experience in technical sales, systems engineering, or software development

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong project management skills and business acumen – ability to independently drive tactical program execution

  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to achieve results as part of an effective team, and ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in order to meet deadlines

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Bi-lingual business level language ability in Japanese and English preferred
