Job Description

This role reports into the Senior Finance Business Partner and plays a key role in providing financial and commercial support to the Technology & Client Services team based in Europe. The incumbent will provide robust reporting and timely and insightful data analysis to the business to support financial control and decision making to meet both financial and business objectives.

Integral to the role is the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders across the Europe Technology & Client Services team along with Global partners both in the functions and within Finance.

Key accountabilities

  • Provide relevant, accurate, timely management information and support to the Senior Finance Business Partner
  • Take accountability for driving functional revenue, expense and balance sheet accounting and reporting, ensuring appropriate processes and controls are in place, and that the financial position is correctly understood, interpreted and communicated to the relevant function
  • Take accountability and responsibility for complex decision-making and will interact with senior level customers supporting and challenging them as required
  • Support the Technology division in developing robust business cases to maximize financial performance
  • Commercial Challenge & Stakeholder Management: Support and challenge individuals within the division to which they are partnered to ensure robust strategic decision making with strong financials evidenced
  • You will provide support with the financial review of key commercial contract
  • Provide advice, interpretation and guidance on finance policies, practices and processes to the function
  • Support Month end process to ensure that appropriate processes, systems and controls are in place and that the financial position is correctly understood, interpreted and communicated
  • You will use underlying trends and future business plans to deliver short-term forecasts (current financial year), annual budgets (next financial year) and 3 year plans
  • Use financial expertise to model and formulate divisional cost centre and project advice and support decision-making through the month end, forecast, budget and planning cycles.
  • Produce relevant reporting and analysis to support partnered divisions decision making as well as monthly and ad hoc analysis
  • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders within Europe and Global HQ, specifically the HQ finance teams to align with global reporting, including working closely with HR BPs to ensure clear Workforce Planning processes are in place for the supported function
  • Work with the Headquarter finance team to integrate into global reporting, procedures, systems and strategies
  • Drive efficiencies and support alignment across Global teams along with challenging the status quo to improve efficiency and performance of the function

This is a hands-on role which requires a self-starter who will help shape the MI and thrive in a changing environment.

Qualifications

  • CIMA / ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent, with experience PQE
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
  • Broad understanding of the payment landscape and Visa products and solutions
  • Demonstrated experience working with technology and client services business units
  • Demonstrated experience working within a business partnering role in the payments sector
  • Deep understanding of Visa’s business model and Visa cost/expenses structure
  • Significant and proven Business Partnering experience with the ability to build and cultivate effective and strong relationships with relevant stakeholders both regionally & globally
  • Previous experience working in a finance division, within a large matrix organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Multi-currency transaction experience
  • Excel / Word / PowerPoint (Advanced)
  • Oracle/Hyperion suite of products required (Advanced)
  • Ariba and Concur experience required
  • Adaptive Insights experience required
