Job Description

Seeking for a seasoned portfolio/program manager to manage the portfolio of initiatives within the Merchant & Acquirer Processing Product Development (MAP PD) organization. This position requires an experienced professional with strong business sense and analytical skills who can work well with our business partners, functional leads, program managers and other team members to plan and manage key initiatives and programs to provide transparency to the leadership and business teams in making the right decision and prioritization call.  Lead the portfolio planning and reporting for our key Product and PD leaders and stakeholders. Ability to flex between the strategic and the tactical, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and possess a high level of energy and flexibility to get things done and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented technology environment.
 

Essential Functions: 

  • Accountable for managing the entire portfolio by creating and reporting on metrics to show progress of programs and projects against their planned goals and deliverables
  • Partner with Product teams to fully understand business requirements and drive desired business outcomes
  • Drive the Annual Operation Planning (AOP) effort, and establish a comprehensive program/project intake and reporting framework between Product and PD
  • Provide leadership and support to program managers by instituting best practices in effective management of programs/projects to ensure conformance to product schedules and deliverables
  • Manage Portfolio/Program outlook and actuals
  • Identify opportunities and implement changes/improvements in the systems and processes which will benefit programs/projects and their respective teams
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, assignments and responsibilities
  • Create and maintain consistent and effective portfolio dashboards, and reports
  • Ensure proper alignment across Product & Technology in support of our project intake, and prioritization process
  • Lead the impact assessment/analysis with teams to support change requests
  • Assist in MAP PD resource planning, and ensure consistent visibility into the headcount allocation to provide most accurate data for management decision
  • Address any portfolio/program issues in a proactive manner, and help resolve blockers to drive optimal execution
  • Make recommendations for further enhancements to portfolio/program standards and processes
  • Ensure clear communication to the stakeholders/leaders and foster collaboration between the different functional teams

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 8+ years relevant Portfolio/Program Management experience 
  • Demonstrate influence and leadership in a large complex Technology organization
  • Proficient in at least one agile project management tool: Rally, Jira, Version One, etc.
  • Ability to present effectively in front of executive management
  • Deep knowledge of software development life cycle, business operations, capacity management, and Agile methodologies
  • Good prioritization, analytical, negotiation and problem solving skills 
  • Strong business acumen to lead data analysis and solutions to meet the demands of our competitive business
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Critical thinking and conflict management skills
  • Detailed oriented, team focused, and results driven
  • Ability to work independently with light supervision 
  • Decisive but inclusive decision making in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

Work Hours This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
