Job Description

This position is ideal for a SW engineer experience candidate who is passionate about solving challenging business problems and building applications that provide an excellent user experience. You will be an integral part of the Application Operation product development team focusing on design and build of software solutions that leverage data to solve business problems.  The candidate will be extensively involved in hands-on activities including POCs, design, documentation, development and test of new functionality. Candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team's needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Working closely with development, engineering and operation teams, jointly develop key deliverables ensuring production scalability and stability
  • Able to help and Guide L1 support engineers to fix day-to-day Operational issues
  • Perform Tuning and Increase Operational efficiency on a continuous basis together with lead engineers
  • Evaluate and introduce technology tools and processes that enable Visa to develop products and solutions, to embrace business opportunities and/or improve operational efficiency together with lead engineers

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding REST, SOAP, JSON and XML is helpful.
  • Working knowledge of IT management protocols such as ICMP, SNMP, WMI, syslog-ng, SSH, etc
  • Working experience with ITSM Tools (e.g. Service Now, BMC Remedy etc.)
  • Previous use of GIT or Subversion for code management and versioning.
  • Familiarity Linux working with shell scripting, perl scripting
  • Familiarity Windows OS working with Powershell
  • programming and scripting language - Python, Java, Java script

  • Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 0% of the time

Physical Requirements: ​​​​​​

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
