Job Description

The Visa Global Communications team is charged with advancing Visa’s business objectives as well as protecting and enhancing Visa’s reputation. As a global team, we do this by: proactively telling Visa’s story to a broad range of stakeholders, including employees, media, analysts and beyond; shaping perceptions that can grow Visa’s business at the regional and global level; and managing issues and challenges faced by the company. Through the development and execution of external and internal communications plans, the collective team works to maintain Visa’s position as a thought leader and innovator in the payments industry from decades to come.

The Global Product Communications team supports the product and merchant functions to help develop and execute communications plans that advance Visa’s business goals and reputation globally.

As a member of the team, you will be the day-to-day point person for our Visa Direct business unit interacting directly with both the product marketing and product team.  Visa Direct is a payment solution that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to Visa accounts around the world using push payment technology. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P), person to small business transfer (e.g. payments to freelancer), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claim disbursements), bill payment, cross-border remittance and more. Visa Direct is a hyper growth product for Visa’s business, growing at over 100% quarter over quarter.

This person will be responsible for delivering and executing a global communications plan that educates and raises awareness for Visa Direct, and includes daily ownership of: overall strategy, planning, product and partnership announcements, evergreen storytelling, executive support, speaking engagements, industry events and conferences, and thought leadership.

Passionate about communications, and a strong storyteller, this person will tell strategic stories about how Visa Direct is creating meaningful change in the world.

Qualifications

Basic

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.  The focus of your work experience is in communications, in a fast moving environment.

Preferred

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD)
  • Visa and financial/payment industry knowledge as well as P2P, B2C and B2B experience is a plus
  • You are a creative self-starter with a proven track record for successfully developing, building, and launching Communications programs for technology products that delight customers
  • You have excellent writing and verbal communications skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills
  • You have strong planning, organizational, problem solving skills; focused on delivering for clients
  • You have a proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, representing communications team collaboratively across a variety of key internal stakeholders, including: marketing, product, legal, government, sales and technology teams
  • You work well in a fast-paced environment while delivering timely, high quality work
  • You are comfortable with being held accountable for thinking ahead, taking ownership and driving the team forward on a daily basis
  • You are passionate about the technology industry and communicating Visa's role within it
  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills, and leads by influence and example

Physical Requirements:  

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment (phones and computers), reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds

Travel Requirements:  The incumbent may be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 15-20%.
