Job Description

What a Learning Consultant does at Visa:
A Learning Consultant is part of the Market Learning function within Visa University and has responsibility for developing, selling and overseeing delivery of innovative learning solutions to the markets where we serve our clients. The successful candidate will collaborate with regional leaders and clients to gain a deep understanding of capabilities required to grow and optimize Visa’s talent strategy and client engagement strategy.  The role reports into the Regional Head of Learning for Asia Pacific (AP) and is the AP sales lead on the global Business Development sales team.

Qualifications

Key responsibilities and Competencies:

  • Build trusted partnerships with the AP leadership team and other stakeholders to understand their goals and needs and to gain buy-in for proposed initiatives and drive initiative success
  • Work with the AP client sales teams to develop new business development opportunities for client training. Identify new and renewing contracts to ensure Value in Kind (VIK) training is included. Partner with sales teams (BDs and AEs) to sell to clients.
  • Develop client learning proposals and work with sales teams to sell solutions into clients.
  • Negotiate client training contracts and hand-off to delivery team for successful implementation  
  • Define annual AP learning roadmap/business plan and manage associated budget and P&L
  • Collaborate with VU Shared Services to develop and administer regional training needs assessments, analyse organizational challenges, and work with the School of Digital Payments to define strategies and identify solutions that drive measurable results.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on VU’s product catalogue and learning solutions that have already been developed for global implementation.
  • Be a champion of Visa’s learning culture and values and help cultivate these across the region.
  • Effectively communicates timelines and learning and development requirements to business partners and management team.
  • On an exception basis, develop and deliver regional learning solutions and identify and manage local strategic external partner relationships to support these programs.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business or Learning and Development
  • 12+ years’ experience in learning, consulting, sales or business development
  • Experience in the payments industry is strongly valued
  • Experience in L&D, training needs Analysis (TNA), diagnostics, supporting L&D solutions, and evaluation of L&D projects is strongly valued
  • Experience managing a budget with forecasting and sales reporting
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization where regional success is dependent on ability to work with extended delivery teams
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate, consult and influence senior leaders, business partners, internal and external customers, and colleagues to drive business results.
  • Strong aptitude for working with broad scope of technical, business, and professional subject matter; quick and agile learner
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), consulting, stakeholder management, relationship management and influencing skills at all levels in an organization.
  • Effective track record of using metrics and analytics to drive decision making and increased value generation (sales, satisfaction surveys, etc.). 
  • Experience of revenue generating accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and change to improve efficiencies and the effectiveness of learning solutions.
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to engage a wide variety of people in solution design and delivery

Establishes themselves as a subject matter expert by leveraging experience with selling tools, communities and social media platforms that enable learner engagement and connection pre- or post-training sessions
Builds a strong knowledge of the business, including internal and external trends, and keeps up to date with Visa’s business, payments industry and regional nuances
Support with coaching Account Executives and Client-facing Sales teams. Supports with creating strategic learning roadmaps for new hires and the ongoing development of existing employees
