Job Description
Position Summary:
This opportunity calls for a strategic and collaborative Finance professional who will be the lead financial partner for Visa’s Marketing & Communications organization. The Finance VP will be responsible for leading financial planning and analysis, providing broad decision support analytics, identifying and evaluating investment and efficiency opportunities, and proactively managing expenses for Marketing & Communications. This highly visible role includes frequent interaction with the Marketing & Communications Leadership Team (MCLT), the broader finance organization, and other key internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
Provide proactive analytical insight to the CMCO and MCLT
Provide analysis and strategic advice as a trusted business partner to the CMCO and MCLT
Develop robust business cases for global marketing investments
Partner with Marketing Analytics and Strategy & Planning teams to evaluate results of marketing investments
Develop analytical approach to size appropriate level of marketing investment
Lead analysis to deliver insights about financial performance and develop solutions to ensure Marketing & Communications meets financial commitments
Play a lead role in the development of Marketing Services business, including developing pricing strategy and tools, implementing pipeline tracking, and identifying margin expansion strategies
Partner with Strategic Sourcing and the Agency Center of Excellence to identify, evaluate, and measure opportunities to improve efficiency
Lead financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting for Marketing & Communications
Establish efficient processes to provide actionable monthly and quarterly reporting and ensure accountability
Lead forecast and budget processes that support effective decision-making
Simplify and automate processes
Develop tools to enable dynamic decision making to optimize marketing spend across quarters
Collaborate with regional teams to drive marketing decisions and results
Provide a consolidated point of view on Marketing & Communications globally
Lead community of regional Finance counterparts and Marketing Strategy & Planning teams to ensure alignment on forecasts, budgets, and actual results
Coordinate and manage analytical requests with other global and regional functions
Lead high-performing team
Attract, recruit, and retain top talent into the Finance organization
Mentor and manage a team of six
Contribute active leadership to the broader Finance organization
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
Financial Leadership
Drives sound decision-making through effective forecasting, reporting, and analysis of results and business drivers
Expert at structuring, managing, and communicating complex analysis, working across functions and with multiple stakeholders
Drives an efficient and effective process for developing financial plans and analysis that links to the strategic objectives
Creates meaningful and actionable performance metrics to drive accountability and ownership
Ensures the highest level of effectiveness and continued skill development of the FP&A team
Professional
MBA or relevant graduate degree from top-tier institution or similar academic experience
15+ years of financial experience with 4-5 years’ experience in top tier strategy consulting or corporate strategic planning preferred
Experience with global marketing organizations strongly preferred
Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment
Advanced level of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required
Travel to multiple facilities and global locations may be required

Strong executive presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior executives
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with marketing leaders and Finance colleagues

Travel Requirements
This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
