Business Group Overview

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results.

Position Summary

This Director of S&O will be focused on Visa's Value-in-Kind (VIK) incentive offerings. This is a mechanism through which Visa offers industry leading products and services to its clients.

Central to our value proposition, VIK allows clients to enjoy the benefits of the Visa offering as part of their commercial agreements, fostering utilization of innovative solutions, and enabling business growth as a result.

The Director of VIK will focus on strengthening the provision of VIK and delivering on strategic growth objectives within North America.

The successful candidate will build upon the first iteration of VIK, acting as the catalyst for ongoing improvement and landing critical changes within the business. The Director of VIK will engage with senior stakeholders, cross-functionally to ensure that Visa delivers premium value to its clients.

In addition to the above, the Director of VIK will be responsible for the oversight of critical operational and governance functions relating to VIK.

The role is based in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership, guidance, and support on shaping Visa’s future approach to VIK, translating the strategic approach into clearly defined outcomes

  • Identify and execute opportunities to enhance the VIK offering in North America, enabling delivery against targets and strategic objectives

  • Optimization of VIK process design, operational approaches and change management

  • Utilize best practice approaches from both within and outside of Visa to deliver optimal outcomes

  • Understand client needs and performance blocks in relation to VIK through interactions with Account Executives and Clients, formulating requirements to resolve

  • Foster support and ‘buy-in’ from senior stakeholders across both North America and the wider Visa organization

  • Development of tools, collateral and training to support VIK sales and execution

  • Ongoing management of VIK and governance committees

  • Act as the main conduit to the client facing organization for VIK, defining and delivering key communications, training, and updates as appropriate

  • Manage the central reporting of the VIK Scorecard to the North America Executive Leadership Team

  • Management oversight of VIK fund utilization and driving regional execution against scorecard targets

  • Own and drive resolution of issues and challenges as they arise

Qualifications

We are looking for bright and enthusiastic people to bring innovative ideas to our consulting practice:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

  • 10-12 years progressive experience across management consulting and/or payments industry

  • 2-3 years of prior program development and management experience preferred

  • A thought leader with a deep understanding of the Payments Industry

  • Strong emotional quotient and an ability to manage demands within a fast paced, dynamic working environment

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience owning P&L

  • Ability to form strong relationships (internally and externally) as well as a client-focused approach to all areas of work

  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills with an ability to simplify and articulate complex concepts and challenges, providing viable recommendations to resolve

  • A considered and pragmatic approach to quick decision making

  • Excellent influencing skills, able to engage and gain commitment from peers and an extended stakeholder community

  • Ability to think strategically whilst being focused on execution and delivering tangible results

  • Energy, commitment, enthusiasm, and can-do attitude

  • Self-motivated, highly energized; detail-oriented individuals who will deliver strategic thought leadership, problem diagnostics and high impact solutions to clients support the growth and performance.

Additional Information

Work Authorization:

Work Hours

  • Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Travel:

  • This position is based in the bay area and requires minimal travel time <10%. 

Physical Requirements:

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms.
