Job Description

Position Summary   
The primary objective for this role will be to deliver Visa's suite of products and value propositions to current and prospective clients and drive the overall growth, profitability & performance for Visa with these client relationships. You will also support the Group Country Manager with translating strategy to execution, building high quality relationships with all key stakeholders including clients, staff, regulators and other key partners.  

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of Visa's value propositions to its clients through a client partnership model that offers a combination of the right team, best insights and most appropriate product suite
  • Provide the leadership and focus to drive growth, profitability, performance and overall results for our client's business and therefore Visa's business
  • Set and manage the vision and strategy for these important client relationships, in collaboration with cross-functional Visa stakeholders and the executive teams at the respective clients
  • Partner with clients to drive their business; develop strategic relationships with the senior most management and all decision makers at these client institutions; ensure that Visa's client teams are fully integrated at the business level
  • Customize delivery of Visa's global capabilities and products to align with individual client opportunities and priorities
  • Establish and manage world class account teams and organize them as a cohesive entity to pursue a range of business opportunities over the short and long term as well as manage existing relationships
  • Lead the analysis, insight and ongoing monitoring of market trends, regulations and competitive analysis to enable Visa's account teams to develop and implement proactive strategies and plans to protect and grow Visa's business
  • Support Visa's role in managing relationships with regulators, Government, Media, other payment bodies, Fintech companies and other external stakeholders. Be a strong and articulate external voice of Visa including representing Visa at industry forums
  • Understand our client's strategies, priorities, needs and business processes. Present strategic ideas and share Visa's views on industry developments and dynamics, and advise clients on how Visa products can help their results
  • Understand and influence product positioning and pricing of Visa and competitors' products in client's product portfolios
  • Lead a team of professionals to source and secure new business opportunities leading to profitable business growth for Visa and its client financial institutions
  • Work in partnership with the Product and Merchant Acceptance teams to help conceptualise new products, solutions and innovations that may be required, keeping in mind client and market requirements
  • As a key member of the Visa India Leadership team, contribute to the overall business strategy formulation, development and execution plans, and contribute as a member of the Leadership team to the overall leadership of the business
  • As a senior leader, play an active role in recruiting, grooming and developing talent for Visa India

Qualifications

  • 20 years of experience in either banking/financial services sector or Technology / FINTECH sector experience. Strong knowledge of payment industry products, services and technologies, eCommerce and mobile technology is a plus
  • Proven ability to negotiate business agreements and to enhance existing and develop new business partnerships at CXO level
  • A proven track record of planning, managing and closing complex and competitive sales efforts; results driven execution
  • A demonstrated ability to implement strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions for clients of all size and act as a trusted advisor by developing significant long-term, trust based relationships with demanding, senior-level executives at large, complex organizations
  • Proven ability to build credibility, influence and negotiate at the highest levels within international/local organizations
  • A track record of and commitment to managing, motivating and holding a high performance team accountable
  • Innovative and agile with ability to adapt to market needs and changing environment. Lead & execute change effectively
  • Ability to make and build strong connections with government and regulators in markets
  • Outstanding academic credentials. An MBA or similar degree from a top tier institution is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing & summarizing the financial indicators necessary to measure business performance including P&L responsibility and accurately forecasting major sources of cost, revenue and risk
  • Needs to be a very strong team player with a collaborative management style
