Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work with product and business teams to turn requirements into AI solutions.
  •  Make strategy recommendation on data pull, integration, aggregation and retention incorporating business requirements and knowledge of best practices.
  • Provide guidance for best algorithms to use.

  • Identifies/creates the appropriate algorithm to be used.

  • Remove roadblocks (organizational and technical) for solution deployment. Responsibile for making sure code is optimized and it validates. 

  • Interprets and provides on-going tracking and monitoring of performance of decision systems and analytical solutions.

  • Able to understand architectural  diagrams and collaborate with software engineers in solution deployment.

  • Presesent findings to business partners and assist in explaning results.

  • Communicates and works with business subject matter experts.

  • Defines and provides business metrics for the overall project to show improvements

  • Understand and follows product, project and technlogy roadmaps.

  • Stay current with new technlogy, aware of competitors and of knowing when product need to be sunset due to technical reasons or it does not fit Visa's overall visions.

  • Work with business partners in creating roadmaps.

  • Mentor and coach junior datas scientist.

  • Work on prototyping to create new solutions for Visa's customers both internal and external.

  • Ensure project delivery within timelines and budget requirements

  • Work with vendors on evaluating solutions.  Work wtih legal on undesrtanding data governance. Work with technology teams on infrastucture available and influence new technology.

  • Organize and participate in AI events both internally and externally.

  • Create tight workign relationships with other  members of the Data Science community at Visa.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience.
  • 3 years of experience in financial services and payments.
  • Strong programming skills (such as Hadoop, Java, Scala, Python)

  • Experience with Deep Learning model training and serving.

  • Solid knowledge of statistical techniques.

  • Experience in using existing ML algorithms as well as modifying algorithms or creating new ones to solve business problems.

  • High Proficiency in the use of statistical packages.

  • Proficiency in predictive analytics, anomaly detection and optimization.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with teams that doing solution deployment, undesrtanding of the technology used, e.g. containers, aggregation packages, etc.

Travel Requirements 

This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements 

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
