Description

The Global Visa.com team is looking for a Senior Designer to create global content on Visa.com. You love design systems and relish in ways to work through and around them. In this role, you will lead by example by working closely with a copywriter and a UX designer within our existing design system to create mockups for Visa sponsorships, products, and other services on Visa.com. 

You will work with internal Visa groups who own global content, regional teams who oversee local Visa.com websites, our own internal creative resources within the Global Visa.com team, as well as external agencies. 

You'll use Sketch to produce wireframes, as well as occasionally work in Photoshop to resize and optimize images. The pages you create will be translated and distributed to over 160 Visa.com websites, in 57 different languages. This position reports to the Creative Director.

Key responsibilities

  • ­­Provide design and production support to UX and Creative Directors
  • Deliver and optimize production assets and document specifications
  • QA website pages and platform enhancementsWork with and maintain our component and pattern library
  • Design pages against wire frames and user stories for platform enhancements
  • Push creativity, challenge established thinking, and discover new ways of solving a problem
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UX, fellow visual designers, marketing owners, product managers) to create compelling visual designs
  • Work closely with creative directors, content authors, web developers and engineers to deliver the final product

Qualifications

Basic

  • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA) working in a fast moving environment as a Designer

Preferred 

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5-7 or more years working in fast moving team- oriented environment, as a designer. 
  • Sense of humor, great collaborator and ability to herd cats with a cattle prod
  • No cry babies, you won't always get your way
  • You have prior experience working within scalable component-based design systems for mobile and web
  • You have deep understanding of platform and device requirements such as form factors, screen resolutions, pixel density and aspect ratios
  • You have prior experience working with engineering, content authoring teams and business stakeholders
  • You demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You are able to compromise when necessary but also know when to hold your ground 
  • An impressive portfolio which demonstrates design system thinking or just mind-blowing eye candy
  • Proficient in Sketch and also Photoshop

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting.   The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment (phones and computers), reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds

Travel Requirements: 

The incumbent may be required to travel domestically 0-10%.
