Job Description
The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for providing support to critical applications. In this position, you will be applying root-cause operation break fixes and other enthusiastic maintenance activities to keep the application up and running 24x7. This is a professional level position and requires strong execution and analytical abilities. You will be expected to interact with Systems, Database personnel, Engineering, Product Development, Risk and various groups within Technology. Strong Linux/Unix capabilities, communication and analytical skills are very important to find success in this role.
Essential Duties
Provide technical support to a Level 0 Application ensuring it meets all service level agreements and team objectives.
Participate in deep dive root cause and analysis (RCA) for issues encountered for associated services
Perform disaster recovery plan without impacting any related services
Implement extensive application monitoring objectives
Implement self-healing services to minimize or eliminate downtime
Implement application and system changes according to best practice
Work with the development team to resolve issues, enhance applications, and advice
Participate on the on-call rotation
Resolve incidents and problems in accordance within defined guidelines and meet operational level agreements
Ability to work after hours including weekends and night when required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in managing large enterprise applications with stringent SLA goal and 24x7 global delivery model
Significant experience with application support organization working in 24*7 environment, driving high availability on active/active environments
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a strong automation/monitoring mindset
Intermediate understanding of infrastructure components like Linux Operating Systems, Virtual Machines, Database, MQ, Middleware, Storage etc.
Hands-on experience supporting web services or applications based on Linux, Java, BASH, Python, Oracle, DB2, and Hadoop. Ability to analyze thread dumps, garbage collection, and other related JVM components
Understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as Firewalls, Load Balancer, DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, PKI, SSL, TLS, Digital Certificates, Encryption, Security Scanning or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively to team members and managers
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Strong ability to self-learn new technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on Redhats version of kubernetes, Docker called openshift a plus
- Experience with Service Now and ticketing workflows a plus
- Experience with log analysis/alerting tools such as Splunk or equivalent
- Experience with external application monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, ThousandEyes AppInernal, Opera, Grafana, or equivalent

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will
require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
