Job Description

The Business Planning and Operations Team (BPO) provides the European CEO with Executive Support and Engagement, Governance & Performance Management, and Business Planning & Initiatives.

This is an exciting, fast moving area of the business where we oversee the successful completion of activities critical to the European CEO.

The Data Analyst is a key role within our team reporting directly to the Head of Governance and Performance Management. The role is responsible for the production of key sources of Management Information (MI) utilised by the Business Planning and Operations team and Europe’s Broader Leadership Team (including the European Scorecard and Executive Action Log).

This hands-on role requires a strong data and business analysis skillset. You will be highly numeric, have excellent working knowledge of excel and experience of managing the mechanics related to reporting including: data extraction, data translation, information logging, analysis and interpretation. You will have the ability to summarise and communicate insightful analysis of key trends, highlighting key Business Risks & Opportunities. You will also be experienced in operationalizing and automating MI processes and driving their continuous improvement.

The role requires a proactive and highly resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, analytical skills and the ability to drive high profile work. You will require excellent organisational skills, a willingness to learn and, be comfortable navigating challenging forces and working in a fast-paced environment with significant change. Adaptability is key, as our team must respond to the needs of the CEO and European business.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Performance Manager to refine effective scorecards and performance measurement, as a mechanism to drive successful execution of strategic objectives and improved visibility of performance shortfalls.
  • Responsible for the production of the European Score Card and ensures that the scorecard is available in a timely manner each month.
  • Supports the delivery of  proactive and insightful analysis of key trends to enrich commentary and understanding of the key operational and strategic Risks & Opportunities
  • Develops a knowledge and understanding of the European Region’s business drivers and develops a comprehensive understanding of how this fits into the overall business strategy
  • Works with stakeholders to ensure that they understand their responsibilities concerning data contribution and that they provide source data to the required quality on a timely basis.
  • Champions good Data Management practices
  • Performs data analysis as needed to identify root causes of trends and recommends corrective actions.
  • Ensures that data is managed in compliance with relevant regulations and European policies – including GDPR and records management.
  • Supports Governance Management on an as needed basis – including maintenance of the executive action log.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in financial services or payments, ideally with some combination of commercial, operations, and finance experience
  • Demonstrated exceptional analytical skill with experience managing and manipulating large relational data sources (Tableau, PowerBI etc.)
  • Qualified in one of the following: Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business, or Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative fields
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing to stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven ability to service and support a range of internal and external customers, often in parallel and within a shifting set of priorities.
  • Experience working across European markets in the payments sector
  • Advanced Microsoft excel skills including ability to create and understand complex formulas, link databases and create working MI Tools.
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
