Job Description

The Learning & Development Program Manager ensures strategic oversight on key, global Visa University learning and development projects, typically from initiation through delivery. Coordinates cross-functional teams through meetings and progress measurement activity, which bring distinct, specific projects to completion on time and within budget. Responsible for motivating their teams to create and deliver compelling content that will educate and deliver key training topics to market.

  • Essential Functions

  • leading large, complex global learning programs, involving VU functions such as content development, delivery, training administration

  • Manage large, complex global learning programs within given constraints of scope, schedule, budget, and quality through the duration of the project.  Lead team of learning professionals, from functions such as content development, delivery, and training administration, to deliver globally relevant training and information in a compelling format to educate internal and external clients.

  • Ensure teams are aligned with agreed upon business strategy and stated goals.

  • Allocate work among team members and provide guidance on a regular basis.

  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure project is on track and conduct post-project lessons learned reviews.

  • Ensure all project documentation is kept up to date and communicated to the relevant stakeholders on a timely basis.

  • Define supporting and/or driving process improvements.

  • Coach and mentor.

  • Vendor management.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)\

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Experienced, results-oriented project manager with experience in project management or progressive learning and development cross-functional project roles.

  • Learning and development experience is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to launch new global content into market.

  • Project management skills and ability to prioritize work, handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracy, and attention to detail and organization.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, as well as collaboration techniques.

  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products.

  • Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working in a global or multi-region capacity, with strong cross-cultural sensitivities.

  • Project management/program management certifications preferred.

  • Agile experience preferred.

  • Experience with payments industry is a plus.
