Job Description

In Visa’s Global Seller Solutions team, we simplify, expand and enrich connections between Sellers and their customers. We empower them to succeed and fulfill their purpose. 

The Product Manager will be a member of the Seller Experience team and be responsible to deliver seller enablement initiatives across Visa products.  The individual will conceptualize, build, implement and support product and solutions that deliver best possible experience for the sellers to interact with their customers -  Visa cardholders.  This position will be based in the Bay Area (Foster City or San Francisco) and will report to the Senior Director, Bill Pay/Card-Not-Present. 

The Product Manager will assess global market trends, evaluate potential product opportunities, and recommend regional go-to-market strategies. His/her primary responsibility is to build products and solutions that deliver delightful experiences with a substantial value propositions across the entire payments ecosystem i.e., merchants, consumers, issuers, acquirers and technology platforms. In this role, the Product Manager will work closely with clients, partners, business unit leaders, engineering, architects, and global cross-functional counterparts to build, iterate and refine new seller products/initiatives across all channels.

The Product Manager will bring prior experience in hands-on development of solutions and prototypes, and a close knowledge of merchant needs and payment provider pain points and expectations. He/she will also be responsible for the product vision and delivery, including managing product/program implementation requirements, feature prioritization, product operations, and on-going product management. He/she will also partner with internal groups to evaluate and articulate the value/business proposition of new products/ initiatives and will also train and be highly consultative to Visa’s client facing teams and regional product leads on the best way for clients to take advantage of Visa’s Seller solution.

The individual will focus on the Card-Not-Present and Bill Pay merchant segment and work closely with product and policy lead, as well as the merchant and acquirer sales leads.  He/She will:

  • Be the point of contact to respond to seller needs in the Card-Not-Present segment

  • Support and collaborate with client relationship leads to ensure proper communication of Visa product, rules and mandates that impact seller practice. 

  • Conduct seller performance analytics, business reviews and generate performance enhancement recommendations independently

  • Lead program and project management and analytical support for major seller enablement initiatives

  • Drive the development of business intelligence dashboards that monitor product and mandate implementation

  • Interact with clients to collect seller pain points and recommendation that feed into idea co-creation and rapidly prototype working proof of concepts, and bring pilots to market to enhance seller capability.

  • Conceptualize new seller product and solutions and develop Visa rule change and/or processing change business requirements

  • Develop product and solution implementation procedures and best practices guides

  • Drive expert knowledge on the rules, policies and business applications of seller products and solutions

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of work experience and a Bachelors Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree   

  • 3+ years of experience in the payments industry (e.g. payment processing, acquiring, payment technology provider, payment brand etc.)

  • 3+ years of experience in technical or business product management (business case development to P&L management)

  • 3+ years' experience with business intelligence and quantitative analytics with demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Strong product development skills with a sound understanding of payment technology, risk and fraud management, other ecosystem requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills paired with unwavering attention to detail

  • Strong customer oriented mind set to support business operations.

  • Ability to manage complex projects and processes with multiple stakeholders, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of projects and business problems

  • Highly organized with excellent multitasking skills and the ability to manage multiple disparate projects in parallel

  • Ability to thrive in a cross functional setting and communicate effectively with different teams at Visa

  • A positive attitude, calming demeanor, and a great sense of humor

  • Advanced degree desirable

Work Hours:

  • Must be available during regular business hours with flexibility to accommodate global time zones.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position may require travel for work up to 10-20% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
