Job Description

This position will be within the Global Client Licensing function, a client-facing professional services team. We provide operational support to clients, entailing specialized knowledge of Visa licenses, agreements, and rules. Our clients include financial institutions, third party processors, non-traditional clients, and state-owned entities.

The Operations Analyst is an individual contributor role that maintains the operational numeric data related to the card programs of Visa clients worldwide, including Bank Identification Numbers (BINs) and other numeric identifiers. This role identifies and resolves workflow issues and refers unusual problems to a specialist or manager for resolution. Decisions in this role are guided by policies, procedures and business plans. The Operational Analyst will work independently and receive minimal guidance. This role requires interaction with a variety of departments as a subject matter expert on a broad range of subjects with unique requirements (e.g., tools, best practices).

  • Manages functional requirements and operational activities related to the Numeric Delete process. Maintains the upkeep and accuracy of training materials, FAQs, forms, etc.

  • Monitors ongoing integrity of Visa data. Provides business assessments of BINs and other transactional numerics to internal and external clients.

  • Manages operational activities for Visa Token Service, including enrollment, PAN-to-token mapping, and Token Requestor ID creation. Maintains program-related documentation.

  • Maintains several Access databases, including the updating or creation of new databases as the business requires. Generating reports from these databases, and insuring accuracy of data.

  • Responsible for tracking and reporting operational metrics. Provides analysis and explanation of regional trends for management. Responsible for suggesting refinements and strategic improvements to important metrics. Supports on an as-needed basis monitoring and quality assessment programs such as business requirements review, quality assurance validation and reporting, and various internal audits, as assigned.

  • Manages job-specific mailboxes; including providing or facilitating proactive and timely replies to requests / questions, and maintaining mailbox hygiene / structure.

  • Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with all internal stakeholders as a licensing and numerics subject matter expert. Represents the team’s strategic and operational requirements to internal organizations, such as Product, Systems, Tools and Implementation, as assigned.

  • Participates in operational reporting and consultation necessary to support the implementation of new products or services.

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements, better reporting, or improved collaboration with key partners, including clients.

  • Builds awareness of numeric programs, rules, policies and processes with targeted audiences.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Working knowledge of the payments industry

  2. Ability to set priorities and execute deliverables within a busy, shifting environment

  3. Experience in data-driven, client-focused industry

  4. Demonstrated ability to be proactive and think through consequences

  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills

  6. Ability to understand voice of customer / business requirements

  7. Experience in mapping end-to-end processes and identifying value-added and non-value added steps in the process

  8. Demonstrated successful experiences and results in process improvement methodologies and processes

Technical Knowledge:

  1. Working expertise with databases and job ticketing programs (Dynamics, JIRA, etc.)

  2. Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel (formulae, pivot tables, v-lookups), and Visio

  3. Experience with Tableau preferred, but not required

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
