Job Description
This position is for Mainframe Application and Open System Development and Production Support in the Client Information Development team. The Client Information Development team is part of the Client Information Clearing and Settlement (CICAS) organization. We are responsible for the development, maintenance and support of business critical applications that support Visa's daily operations. Client Information applications are responsible for the storage, upkeep and dissemination of client information for authorization, clearing, settlement and data mining.
Job responsibilities
Provide analysis, software design, develop code, unit test and full integration of software into existing platform and architecture
Creates design and system documentation of software artifacts for installation and maintenance
Remain current with latest industry standards and best practices that can be incorporated into existing systems
Identify, evaluate, and develop cost effective development approach that meet business requirements
Analyze business problems and implement technical solutions that will meet these requirements
Communicate effectively to team to derive "best practices" solutions that can be reused
Build and maintain effective relationships across functional areas in order to provide superior product support
Provide rotational 24x7 on call support for problem analysis and resolution as scheduled
Ensure on-schedule delivery of a high quality product that meets business and technical requirements
Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate
Qualifications
Qualification
8+ years of experience in Software Development
Strong analytical and organizational skills with a demonstrated aptitude to understand technical environments
Strong teamwork skills and excellent collaboration skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast paced environment
Results driven and flexible
Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
Preferred but not required: Solid understanding of the Visa environment with an emphasis on the Profile Systems
Ability to translate a Conceptual Approach with the Business Requirement to create a comprehensive development design
Experience in COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM and ISPF Dialog is required.
- Experience as intermediate level in JAVA, SQL, Macro will be preferred
