Visa Direct is a path-breaking new platform that enable Visa clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate real-time funds transfers and disbursements to Visa accounts globally using push payment technology. Visa Direct is targeted at an estimated $80 trillion global opportunity in push payments across many consumer and business applications such as mobile peer-to-peer payments, marketplace payouts, digital disbursements, bill payments and cross-border remittances. 

Job Description

This is a global role within the Visa Direct product organization reporting to the Vice President and Head, Visa Direct Global Platform & Solutions. The role-holder will  help develop and manage the medium-term vision and strategy for the platform. As the Visa Direct platform evolves rapidly to address new markets, use-cases and services, this role will define the overarching vision and strategy to guide that evolution. Equal parts strategist, product manager, and data analyst, the role-holder will articulate a consistent platform “story” to Visa executive leadership, clients and partners. S/he will also guide new product development by helping the product management team identify gaps proactively.  

The role-holder will also identify synergies between Visa Direct and other internal and external payment services for example - tokenization, authentication, aliasing etc. and help integrate these into the product roadmap. The role-holder will also track trends in related domains such as  real-time payments, open banking, blockchain etc. and develop insights for executive decision-making. In addition to working closely with the Visa Direct product management team, the role-holder will work closely with colleagues in Business Operations, Finance and Communications for executive reporting, business planning and product marketing.  

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 1 year in the payments or software industries in a product management or solution architecture role.    
  • A stint in strategy consulting or market analysis will be considered a strong asset
  • Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines and frequent changes
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to a broad audience in clear and convincing terms.
  • An advanced degree e.g. MBA strongly preferred
  • ** Can be based in San Francisco or Foster City, CA **

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: This position requires the incumbent to travel for work up to 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
