Job Description
Functional Summary
The Global Business Optimization team has a simple mission: we turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that drive business value. Our analytic consultants and data analysts work with Visa’s clients and staff to improve portfolio and product performance, program profitability and cardholder experiences around the world. By coupling in-depth analysis of portfolio behavior with Visa’s world-class products, digital offerings and marketing capabilities, we ensure our clients’ programs operate at their peak potential and that cardholders have seamless commerce experiences in both the physical and digital world.
Position Summary
As part of the Client Services organization, this leadership role serves the critical function of establishing and overseeing the entire program lifecycle for strategic authorization improvement initiatives. This charter is inclusive of developing a programmatic approach to engagement models and insight delivery, maintaining relevant program artifacts, establishing communications content and cadence, and providing strategic guidance to global and regional efforts. You will collaborate closely with regional leaders and their teams to pull up relevant insights and help push them across the globe to ensure seamless adoption of the collective expertise within the team. You will craft and execute a communications plan which delivers relevant updates to the organization, inclusive of executive leaders, which are consistently on-point, impactful and focused on demonstrating tangible results. This requires the ability to quickly understand strategic priorities and identify tactical action items with clear ownership and follow-up. From these work streams, you will translate progress into elegant and effective executive and functional read-outs. In summary, you will act as a force multiplier, enabling everyone in GBO, from new analysts to team leaders, to perform their jobs more effectively than they could alone.
Responsibilities
This role makes an impact in the following ways:
Structure and manage the entire program lifecycle via integrated, multi-track projects that meet the business intent for strategic authorization improvement initiatives
Build and maintain productive relationships with a wide variety of team members, cross functional leaders and executives, focusing on strategic initiatives from various perspectives
Build and utilize relationship capital to drive action, increase effectiveness, and identify efficiencies across functional areas
Develop a framework to document knowledge and best practices, estimate the opportunity of solutions, and quantify/report the impact of strategic initiatives
Create and manage an internal communications cadence and action plan which ensures solutions are taken to market effectively and make impacts at the macro level
Align strategic roadmap to resource capacity and ensure adherence to agreed upon deliverables
Provide top-tier operational support to global and regional colleagues
Partner with GBO leaders to prepare and present monthly business reviews to executive audiences
Lead via influence and manage expectations of peers and executives across the company.
Orchestrate cross-functional teams including Client Services, Sales, Risk, Product, Finance, and Legal to achieve holistic goals.
Keep activities on track through early identification of issues, determining potential resolutions, assigning the appropriate resources, communicating status, and tracking and resolving these issues in a timely, thoughtful manner
Collaborate with the Global Head of GBO and VP of Authorization Improvement, to ensure appropriate progress on planned initiatives and associated resource management needs
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 9 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 6 years of work experience with a PhD
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 9+ years of work experience with a PhD;
- Professionally qualified, including
- Demonstrable success in progressively responsible roles
- 10+ years of program management experience
- Experience in payments, banking or financial services is a plus
- Experience navigating fast-paced environments and operating at the forefront of new horizons by successfully bringing business objectives to life in the face of ambiguity
- Self-motivated, highly organized and energetic.
- Ability to operate independently and wield cross functional influence effectively in a matrixed organization (get things done DNA)
- Analytically-minded problem solver and critical thinker with the ability to quickly break down complex problems and propose alternative ways of thinking
- Demonstrable experience in leading others through influence using data
- World class communication skills to take highly complex analytical output and convey facts to broad audiences
Possess great judgement and show grace under pressure with examples to prove it.
Additional Information
Work hours: 8 hours - Regular Office hours
Travel: Position might require occasional travel for training or team meetings
Mental/Physical Requirements: · This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
