Job Description

This role will report to the Sr. Vice President, Head of Visa’s European Product and be part of the Visa LAC Product leadership team. He/she will be required to work directly with key executive leaders across the entire Visa organization. 

Role Description & Responsibilities

Visa Real-Time Payments focuses on building and deploying innovative technologies to modernize payments around the world.  To affect this global transformation, we are looking for leaders who are passionate about innovating and delivering truly differentiated payment solutions for specific marketplaces.  Successful execution of this role will be achieved through a combination of leadership, payments and delivery knowledge, communication, and applied strategy in applying Visa’s new but rapidly expanding real-time payments offering.

The RTP Regional Head will formulate and execute Visa’s go-to-market strategy for real-time payments, overseeing all business development efforts and implementation, in conjunction with our existing sales force. The primary responsibilities of this position are to:

  • Partner with regional product and executive teams to develop Visa’s regional strategy for ACH/Real-time Payments; get buy-in for key activities and investment requirements from Executive Committee

  • Lead business development initiatives to respond to regional RFIs and RFPs, all while establishing strong working relationships across key banks, central banks, and other payment regulatory bodies

  • Track all related in-region efforts and identify what value added services or use cases specific to RTP capabilities should be brought to bear.  Clearly articulate the any regional or market specific functional or regulatory differences needed to successfully deploy and adapt to local needs

  • Maintain tight alignment and work closely with product, client services, merchant, financial institution, processing and similar management teams, acting as a project manager on strategic projects, and bringing timely and useful insight, perspective, analytical support, and research resources

  • Coordinate with Visa’s technology and RTP leadership in prioritizing functionality and local client requirements

  • Work with Visa’s Corporate Development team to define and execute M&A strategies related to building ACH/Real-time Payments capabilities

  • Identify partnership opportunities to support Visa’s strategy and initiate the business case and value proposition detailing the opportunity and diligently work the follow-through

  • Foster an inclusive team culture that is collaborative and inquisitive

  • Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management and other executive, functional, or regional management while supporting syndication with stakeholders across the organization

 This is a matrix, cross functional role so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical, as we interface with other specialized product groups, financial institution sales, merchant sales, client consulting, operations, technology, risk, analytics, marketing and corporate communications, legal, corporate strategy, interchange/pricing, and finance to coordinate the build, launch and support of Visa RTP.  Visa is looking for an individual that is a thought leader in strategy and business growth with a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  •  12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A self-starter with a bias towards action with leadership quality that translate into results

  • 15+ years of experience with at least 10 years of experience working for ACH/Real-Time Payments operators; or experience working in the cash management functions of leading FIs

  • Demonstrated business development and client-facing experience.  The ideal candidate will have experience with financial institutions, fintechs, payment processors, merchants and government entities and will be “known“ in the global payment industry

  • Demonstrate superior strategic, analytical, and problem solving skills, and is capable of clearly communicating and executing a long-term vision for Real-Time Payments within specified region

  • Be a natural collaborator, with excellent communication skills, and a strong executive presence

  • Exhibit relevant and consistent leadership behaviors in team building and management, customer communications and internal interactions with peers, senior management, clients, and third party vendors

  • Possess ability to structure, manage, and coordinate multiple complex cross-functional projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels

  • Experience working cross-functionally and holding a senior leadership position

  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of an organization

  • Strong business acumen – ability to influence strategy while driving tactical program delivery

  • Creativity and resourcefulness to overcome unexpected roadblocks

  • High proficiency in delivering materials

  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese and English

Work Hours

  • Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours in the LAC region

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 30% of the time.

Physical Requirements

  • This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
