Job Description

  • Work across the Cluster CEMEA (Central Europe, Middle East and Africa) to deliver effective and measurable proactive and reactive media relations activities that enhance and protect Visa`s reputation in cross-regional media and Tier1 outlets (with the primal focus for CEMEA leadership team).

  • Utilize global resources and networks to create consistent clear communication that positions the organization against the globally agreed communications strategy.

  • Keep abreast of all media industry developments and apply relevant ones to the business – particularly in social media. The expert on audience segmentation and targeting.

  • Lead up and downstream communications within the function – giving clear counsel on issues, news of the day and pending media activities.

  • Be a trusted advisor to Communications Market leads, management in hub/market/cluster giving guidance on media issues, reacting and responding and reporting appropriately.

  • Support the continuing development of the Communications Function as a newly globalised function and work at all times to demonstrate the value-add of the function.

  • Leverage global media content locally and, reciprocally, provide suitable content for corporate leverage.

  • Develop and coordinate cross-regional communications campaigns (including toolkits, creative, messaging, etc) to support strategic business objectives

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in a wide spectrum of communications, with demonstrated track-record of implementing communications strategies and campaigns based on business objectives and managing media relations and crisis/issues preparedness.

  • Proven ability to manage work in highly matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders

  • Highly skilled at synthesizing complex information from a variety of sources or disciplines to arrive at a broader, deeper and well-integrated understanding of the issues and strategic impact

  • Experience managing external agency partners

  • Good project management skills and attention to detail

  • Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred

  • Energetic, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
