As we continue to expand our team, we are hiring a Director of Social Impact Marketing to lead the strategy around Visa’s social impact and purpose-fueled mission, as well as support our broader brand strategy to engage consumers, clients and other external stakeholders as a purpose-driven brand.

The role will report to the Senior Director, Global Brand Strategy with a focus on developing the marketing strategy and implementing key marketing initiatives to tell Visa’s story in ways that support our social impact and brand aspirations.  As a new role, it’s an opportunity to shape the way that social impact comes to life at Visa, as part of a marketing team that is driving the future of one of the world’s leading brands.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about working for an organization that is truly committed to being a force for good in the world and have proven experience running marketing programs in support of social impact or purpose-led initiatives. He/she should have a “can do”, positive attitude with a proven ability to influence across functional areas and geographic boundaries. The individual must be strong strategic thinker and communicator who functions well in a highly-matrixed global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the marketing strategy development for Visa’s social impact agenda and support its integration into the broader brand strategy for Visa as it evolves to become a more purposeful brand

  • Provide marketing direction and support for the activities of the global social impact team and the management of key internal and external assets  - naming architecture, owned platform content, communication strategy, global initiatives and events etc

  • Create and deliver content that supports Visa’s thought leadership amongst clients and key stakeholders in areas of social impact focus for Visa e.g. micro and small business

  • Partner with regional and local marketing and communications teams to create and deliver content that drives the awareness of social impact programs in key markets

  • Partner with Visa’s global and local agencies in the development and implementation of marketing programs, ensuring availability of appropriate resources and capabilities

  • Participate in the development of the annual plan for global marketing support and provide sound ongoing management of budgets and expensing

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA preferred

  • 12+ years of experience in a wide spectrum of  marketing, with demonstrated track-record of implementing brand and marketing strategies based on business objectives and managing social impact or purpose-led marketing programs that delivered measurable business results

  • Proven ability to manage work in highly matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders

  • Highly skilled at synthesizing complex information from a variety of sources or disciplines to arrive at a broader, deeper and well-integrated understanding of the issues and strategic impact

  • Experience managing external agency partners

  • Good project management skills and attention to detail

  • Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred

  • Energetic, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment (phones and computers), reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds

Travel Requirements:

The incumbent may be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 10-20%
