Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This is a Product role responsible for the product management of Visa’s consumer product offerings and benefits across multiple segments, as well as the associated digital delivery platforms, whilst supporting and delivering value to key stakeholders (clients, country, regional, global and other functional Visa teams).

 

  • Market Knowledge

    • Monitor and understand global and regional market trends relating to consumer products, preferences and payments in general, providing thought leadership to clients and internal Visa stakeholders

    • Understand client needs in key Sub-Saharan African markets and identify opportunities and challenges that can be solved with various consumer offerings

  • Product Development, Sales and Delivery

    • Represent Visa by providing a point of contact to clients and successfully positioning our consumer product capabilities through the development of sound CVPs internally and in conjunction with clients

    • Use market insights to develop customer value propositions and ensure that future benefits and offerings reflect the regional (SSA) market and consumer needs across multiple segments

    •  A key part of the role will be to manage various product benefits, as well as digital platforms utilized to deliver cardholder benefits to consumers, in conjunction with vendors. This includes all aspects of benefit development, enhancements and management of digital benefit platforms, or representing the needs of SSA consumers and clients to deliver Visa’s global platforms in the region

    • Build and localise segment CVP decks (for sell-in of capabilities, thought leadership, training, etc.) and participate in cross-functional co-creation / design thinking sessions and projects to help clients address segmentation and CVP challenges

    • Work with your line manager and other key stakeholders (Hub SMEs, Business Development, Marketing, Product, Vendors) to implement key solutions and drive revenue targets

    • Support key business development opportunities, provide input and expertise to pitches, RFPs, and new or existing client opportunities

  • Product Performance Management

    • Track the performance of product benefits, launches and programs, whilst providing regular reporting and dashboards (either available or personally developed)

    • Support the creation of Business cases for new initiatives and prepare financial projections, working closely with Finance, Business Development and other stakeholders to validate assumptions

    • Produce executive management reports, briefings and other related communications

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent, Masters degree advantageous but not a requirement

  • 8+ years (with Bachelors degree) or 6+ years (with Masters degree) of experience, spanning consumer product management (financial services advantageous), developing and managing customer value propositions and sourcing of consumer benefits

  • Strong knowledge and proven execution experience in marketing, product management and portfolio management principles in financial services /retail banking / payments arena

  • Proven track record of successful planning and execution in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to execute independently and operate successfully within a matrix/team environment

  • Digitally curious, with exposure to digital products and digital product management advantageous

  • Strong analytical skills, problem solver

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, thought leader

  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a matrix organization, as well as vendors and clients

  • Self-directed and motivated, with an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Proficient user of all Microsoft Office products

  • Knowledge of Visa products, payments or international business are advantages, but not minimum requirements
