Job Description

Understanding that resilience of the global financial system depends on both individual firms and the interconnections between them, Visa’s Operational Resilience organization has a unique opportunity available to design and operationalize a Business Service Resilience program in the role of Senior Director. The position also offers the opportunity to build a team of additional three resources over time.

Reporting to the head of Business Continuity, the role is responsible for the design and development of a comprehensive business service resilience focused program and framework with supporting deliverables and scaled implementation across the enterprise. The position provides an opportunity to mature Visa’s resilience posture through new & leading edge capabilities, effectively reinforcing Visa as a leader in the industry. This is a highly collaborative role that requires close partnership with partnering resilience disciplines including Business Continuity Management, Vendor Resilience, IT Disaster Recovery, and partners in Technology and Operational Risk. The ideal candidate demonstrates applied experience in a unique combination of skill sets including: Operational Resilience in the FinTech industry for multi-national corporations; data analytics; innovation, creativity and design; executive stakeholder relationship management; high level of personal initiative and self-motivation.

Essential Functions

  • Design and develop program framework, procedures, and implementation timeline
  • Engage with senior executives to define the business service inventory and perform the Executive Business Impact Analysis
  • Effectively manage operational resilience by focusing on business services (e.g. comprehensively assess the resilience of processes and systems that support business services)
  • Gain executive support through active engagement and deep working partnerships
  • Synthesize data, derive meaningful insights, and produce high caliber and innovative reports for executive management consumption
  • Drive investments that increase operational resilience through risk analysis and metrics
  • Monitor industry publications, events, and trends to continually mature the program including strategy, policy, and procedures
  • Understand and manage the Business Continuity landscape for financial services and technology companies as it relates to regulatory oversight and best industry practices including: Federal Financial Institution Examinations Council (FFIEC), Bank of England (BoE), Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII), and, Business Continuity Institute (BCI)

Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent + 12 years of experience required
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certification or equivalent
  • Experience in Operational Resilience or closely aligned discipline
  • General understanding of business continuity planning software
  • Applied experience in program design and implementation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven data analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of applied experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Master’s, MBA, MD, PhD). Preferred areas of study include Business, Technology, Supply Chain, and Organizational Resilience
  • Master Business Continuity Professional or equivalent
  • Understanding of the global financial payments ecosystem
  • Experience with program design, development, and implementation
  • Applied experience in managing a resilience program for a multi-national FinTech corporation
  • Experience with advanced data analytics, synthesis, and executive reporting
  • Proficiency in O365 Suite and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams)
  • Proficiency in utilizing a business continuity planning software
  • Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-organization projects and processes with multiple stakeholders 
  • Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and excellent writing capabilities 
  • Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior leadership and external parties
  • Passionate, self-motivated, results-driven accompanied by a strong work ethic
  • Possess a demonstrated sense of urgency with the ability to perform well under significant enterprise-wide pressure
  • Experience with advanced data analytics, synthesis, and executive reporting

Work Hours

Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours and may occasionally require off-business hours’ availability.

Travel Requirements

This position doesn’t require significant travel for work

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
