What’s it all about?

Visa’s Operational Resilience organisation is searching for an experienced Business Continuity professional to join the Business Continuity team in the role of Director as an individual contributor. This position is responsible for leading the 2nd line oversight and driving implementation of the Visa Europe Business Continuity program. The role reports into the global program owner with additional reporting to the Europe Head of Operational Resilience.

As a global technology payments brand that connects merchants, banks and consumers, it is important that Visa is resilient through its preparedness and effective response to disasters and business disruptions. Operational Resilience protects corporate assets through effective continuity risk management, consisting of three departments: Crisis Management, Business Continuity, and IT Disaster Recovery.

The position is likely to require occasional off-business hour availability and possible travel.

 

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Lead the oversight of the annual Business Continuity Management program for Visa in Europe:

    • Facilitate business continuity focused meetings with senior and executive management to set the scope of the annual program

    • Guide business impact assessments (BIA) and business continuity plan (BCP) development, and facilitate planning, conducting and evaluation of exercises

  • Monitor and track program compliance and effectiveness in collaboration with the governance team through the development and ongoing maintenance of dashboards and metrics for management awareness of Business Continuity Management program state of readiness

  • Provide meaningful challenge to the business to drive ownership and accountability of business continuity deliverables

  • Collaborate with the Europe Operational Risk team on identification and management of business continuity related risks; Drive synergies with existing risk programs, and effective governance oversight of the Operational resilience program

  • Support business service and ecosystem resilience focused activities across the larger Operational Resilience organization

  • Maintain Visa Europe’s organizational functional area hierarchy and supporting data in the business continuity planning tool

  • Assist in developing the program roadmap by providing leadership and strategic guidance on design and implementation in accordance with annual program requirements

  • Understand relevant laws, industry regulations and government code as well as the types of audits the organization is subject to

Qualifications

What we’re after…

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or hold equivalent professional experience; Master’s degree (or relevant professional experience) encouraged in Business, Technology, Finance, and/or Organizational Resilience. Preferred studies include Business Administration, Business Continuity Management, Management Information Systems
     
  • Relevant and proven business continuity experience
     
  • CBCP certification (or similar) required; MBCP encouraged
     
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant industry standards (ISSO 22301) and regulatory guidance (FFIEC IT Handbook for Business Continuity Planning)
     
  • Strong track record of collaboration and teamwork beyond direct-line reporting
     
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Office 365 suite, business continuity planning software, and emergency management notification systems
     
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, rapidly changing, and high pressured environment
     
  • Strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence of individuals at various organisational levels
     
  • High level of personal initiative, creativity and self-motivation
     
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
