Job Description

Location for this role is flexible, though San Francisco Bay Area is preferred

As a member of the Regulatory Monitoring & Analysis team, this role will be responsible for continuously maintaining Visa’s Global Regulatory Portal, in addition to other internal and external databases and extracting business relevant insights. Working closely with partners in Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Strategy and regional counterparts, the work will help enable internal Visa stakeholders stay apprised of payments-related regulatory and tax policies in real time. This position will play a key role in developing reports for use by Visa executives in meetings with senior management, clients and government stakeholders. The Analyst will report to the Director, Regulatory Monitoring & Analysis. 

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the maintenance and upkeep of the Global Regulatory Portal, including continued optimization efforts, ongoing communication, training, and upkeep.

  • Consistently studies compliance/regulatory updates and changes in industry best practices; monitoring existing regulations; and advising stakeholders on findings.

  • Work cross-functionally with other business units to manage, monitor, and uncover needed information including data-driven insights on business impact of regulatory developments.

  • Supervise and review content inputted into the Global Regulatory Portal to ensure entries are clear, accurate and up to date.

  • Manage archives of regulatory consultation papers, government submissions and Visa’s responses.

  • Work with team to develop supporting insights that help Visa respond and defend the business.

  • Perform financial and economic analyses and custom report generation as needed.

Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years of related professional experience and Bachelor's degree required. Proven, in-depth knowledge and experience in strategy or policy.

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and facilitate healthy communication.

  • Extremely organized and detail oriented with a strong ability to coordinate across multiple groups and manage workflows appropriately.

  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to ‘translate’ political and regulatory intelligence into business-relevant information.

  • Excellent business communication ability.

  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel required.

  • Strong understanding of the payments business preferred. Ability to work closely with the business and communications functions, receive input, collaborate on aligning a learning strategy, prioritize projects/products based on business objectives and ROI methodology.
