As Senior Staff Systems Engineer, Network Performance and Analytics, your primary responsibility will be to focus on data quality initiatives for network related data residing in disparate Tools and Databases. You will work closely with the Network Operations, Network Engineering, Network Architecture, and Cybersecurity teams and contribute to various workflows. This position is within Global Infrastructure Network Services (GINS) team, that architects, engineers and operates Visa’s global backbone, datacenter, and access networks. The GINS team is centered around hiring and developing diverse talents who are passionate about building and operating best-in-the-breed infrastructure through technology and innovation.
Collaborate with engineers and architects to analyze improvement opportunities relating to data quality and facilitate the implementation of related efforts
Leading technical and project related tasks as they relate to enhancing data quality
Utilizing the enterprise-wide strategy assist with implementation of key initiatives/projects focused on the reduction of technology risk within Visa
Assist in the execution of departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities and contribute to the Global Infrastructure Network Services functional strategy
Work with IT and business teams to develop solutions that address root causes
Work with diverse IT and business teams to assist in developing solutions to related to enhance network data quality in tools
Possess the ability to effectively identify, evaluate and communicate new trends in networking
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in in engineering, computer science, information security, or related field
10+ years of experience in technology capacity in network and/or software engineering, or similar roles
Excellent communicator and team-builder, capable of establishing trust and securing partnership with all levels of the organization, from engineers to senior executives.
Demonstrated technical understanding of technologies, tools, and processes within the ecosystem of the network technologies.
Hands-on experience in software development methodologies and working knowledge in one or more programming languages (Python etc.).
Experience with automation technologies such as Ansible
Experience with various Network Monitoring and Inventory tools such as Solarwinds/Netbrain
Experience with DDI (DNS, DHCP and IP address management) solutions is a plus
Familiarity with Vulnerability Management is a plus
Impressive track record of being able to deliver on complex initiatives and possess attention to detail
Excellent analytical skills, with experience rationalizing large, disparate datasets into concrete observations/recommendations, and formalizing into new network solutions
Possess technical security skills and comprehension of security and risk
Ability to work on complex projects and with diverse teams
Knowledge and experience with diverse IT architectures and enterprise IT data centers, large-scale transaction processing environments, external hosted services and cloud computing environments.
Knowledge of configuration management, change control/problem management integration, risk assessment and acceptance, exception management and security baselines (e.g. CIS Baselines, NIST, vendor security technical implementation guides, etc.)
Must be both a self-starter and team player with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Must be extremely flexible and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities on very tight deadlines
Advanced network/security technical certifications (e.g., CCIE, CISSP etc.) preferred
