Job Description

The Risk and Authentication domain group is responsible for the design, development, and testing of applications that provide Visa clients with solutions to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud for Visa and Visa client payment systems. 

This position is for a Staff Software Engineer on the Risk and Authentication team who will focus on creating new functionality while maturing our code base and development processes.  You will be an integral part of the development team, sometimes investigating new requirements and design and sometimes refactoring existing functionality for performance and maintainability, but always working on ways to make us more efficient and provide better solutions to our end customers. The role is for a self-organized individual with knowledge of web application and web service development. The candidate will perform hands-on activities including design, documentation, development and test of new functionality. Candidate must be flexible and
willing to switch tasks based on team’s needs.

Responsibilities:

The Engineer is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive suites of automation test plans and test cases, maintaining and adding to existing automation framework, continued evaluation of test cases for inclusion in regression, automation for newly integrated features, and development of toolsets to augment QA and Development testing. Candidate will have to work with all the engineering stakeholders to run your tests in a fully automated manner.

You will work side by side with the developers in one of the product development scrum teams, creating test automation and testing new features in our frequent product releases. You may occasionally have to participle in manual testing efforts in areas not yet automated. 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field required.
  • 10+ years development/automation experience.
  • Creates reusable, extendable and sustainable automation suite by advocating "design for testing" strategies in the scrum teams.

  • Creates and maintains automated testing artifacts.

  • Champions automation methodologies.

  • Participates and provides input to planning, building, and maintaining the Automation framework and associated processes.

  • Identifies and drives change to ensure automation effectiveness.

  • Provides accurate, clear and concise testing status updates across multiple projects.

  • Participates in requirement and design review meetings to stay informed of potential impact to test automation.

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of customer requirements, offer suggestions on how best to deliver solutions.

  • Escalates issues to Project Manager and Quality Assurance Manager as needed in a clear, concise and timely manner. Consistently identify and propose solutions to issues.

  • Identifies, communicates and provides solutions to issues that impact project schedules.

  • Consistently seeks challenges and seize opportunities.

  • Conducts root cause analyses and process improvements to drive defect prevention

  • Researches tools, methods, and technology trends to support departmental test automation objectives

  • Participates in ongoing process improvement efforts to ensure test automation is promoted and applied effectively across multiple teams

  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans

  • Communicates project status and plans and anticipates delays and obstacles

  • Collaborates with other teams to manage internal and external timelines and deliverables

  • Provides subject matter expertise to the team on various technical and business topics

  • Participates in software development and supports process improvements
