Visa is in the process of a technology transformation to use open source BigData technologies like Hbase, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka etc. Visa has numerous processes that perform complex transformations on data in order to gain competitive information and insights. The data goes through numerous different transformations into a multitude of tables. The Data-as-a-Service Monitoring and Control team is responsible for building and maintaining an integration framework for applications running within the platform. This team will focus on non-functional requirements for development and operation in shared large scale environment like operational statistic collection, SLA monitoring, scheduling, automatic recovery, data re-processing and re-statement. The framework will need to scale to handle onboarding thousands of jobs, while keeping security concerns in mind.

A successful candidate needs to be highly technical, with architect experience, and have demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, grow and retain data talents.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, and is a thought leader, is very familiar with the up to date development of the industry, have organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of highly motivated engineers to deliver next generation platform for Visa.

• Be accountable for implementing common framework for all types of Data Platform applications.

• Expand, maintain and nurture the India center by motivating and mentoring staff.

• Create a culture of engineering excellence.

• Work collaboratively across team boundaries to share common infrastructure and functional capabilities.

• Drive productivity through engineering fundamentals, framework and best practices.

• Extensive cross-organization collaboration playing a crucial role in interfacing with various technology teams and business stakeholders to identify requirements, prioritize, and drive execution using agile methodologies. Provide feedback to product and technology teams to influence roadmap and strategy.

• Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or other technical discipline

• 12+ year track record of relevant work experience and a Computer Science or related technical discipline is required (with a concentration in data centric initiatives), with demonstrated expertise in leveraging  development best practice methodologies

• Experience in SDLC, continuous integration and continuous deployment using BitBucket and Jenkins is a must.

• Hands on experience in automation for applications running in shared environment with the following stack: Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Kafka, Hive

• Demonstrate expertise in data warehouse development, management of information systems and enterprise data store approaches with progressive career experience managing technologies and operations in large, complex, and geographically diverse operations

• Hands-on experience in developing, design and managing of Data Integration distributed applications for large corporations with experience in both batch and online systems

• Hands-on experience with coding on languages like C/C++, Java; experience with ETL/ELT applications, open system platforms (UNIX: AIX, Linux)

• Strong communication skills with ability to present complex ideas and document in a clear and simple way

• The candidate should have demonstrated success in global product organizations in terms of creating deep partnerships and collaboration with business, fostering a culture that encourages innovation and coordination with multiple teams across borders.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, grow and retain high-caliber talent at scale. Experienced organizing, running, supporting, and growing large technology organization
