Job Description

Overview

The Content Curation and Management Senior Director is responsible for the entirety of Visa University’s (VU) digital content assets. As the senior leader and expert, you will lead the development of VU’s content and knowledge management strategy and implement a content management platform. Your strategy will include all relevant content and sources across Visa and externally.  You will ensure that our global learning production capabilities as well as learning development in our regional markets are enhanced and magnified through your strategy. You are an expert in discovering and accessing digital resources and identifying and curating relevant content for current roadmaps and needs as well as for future needs. You will advocate for and enable the discoverability and access to our internal and externally curated content.  You will consult to team members, stakeholders and clients globally on the availability and relevance of our content.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of Visa University’s (VU) global content curation and knowledge management strategy.

  • Lead the definition and implementation of a global content and knowledge management platform.

  • Solve complex content discovery and access problems, including implementing a federated search engine for easy access to all relevant Visa knowledge and content assets, no matter where they reside.

  • Influence the widespread adoption and use of the platform globally; develop metrics and KPIs to evaluate success.

  • Proactively anticipate, discover and curate content from multiple internal and external sources, including informal learning sessions, in line with our roadmaps and future needs.

  • Identifies and works with relevant content sources internally such as Visa intranet and Visa Knowledgebase and externally such as vendors and academia to acquire and curate content.

  • Develop an information architecture and metadata strategies to better organize and integrate our content across channels for effective and efficient access and retrieval

  • Use taxonomies and meta-data to classify, catalog, store and archive all content (curated or developed) to facilitate easy future retrieval and reuse.

  • Consult to and collaborate with learning producers and VU Colleges to address content gaps; consult to and collaborate with market learning consultants around the globe looking to leverage and contextualize our digital content into their local markets.

  • Develop, execute and continuously improve all processes related to content discovery, curation, contextualization, cataloging, storage and retrieval.

  • Develop and enforce standards for content quality, including user contributions in VU’s Digital Campus.

  • Ensure that the discovery, access and delivery of content meets user needs.

  • Analyze digital analytics and user research to refine taxonomies and content quality.

  • Educate users on features and functionalities of our content management system.

  • Create a version control process for all existing Visa University learning content.

  • Stay on top of the latest technologies and practices in this area.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 15+ years in knowledge management, information architecture or content management and curation.

  • Master’s degree in a related field of study such as library science, information science or information management.

  • Proven expertise in information architecture, taxonomy development and metadata strategies and standards

  • Expert knowledge of standards, procedures and practices used for information and content lifecycle management

  • Extensive experience with digital asset and learning content management processes, systems and platforms.

  • Demonstrates user centricity in designing and developing content management and access strategies.

  • Excellent content discovery and acquisition skills.

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills

  • Demonstrated organizational planning, problem-solving, and influencing skills at all levels and across functions, e.g., Marketing, Technology, Risk, Finance.

  • Knowledge of the payments industry/domain.

  • Experience with learning content design and development.

  • Well organized and highly structured, with attention to detail.

  • Ability and willingness to work with colleagues in collaborative, Agile and team environments, as well as independently.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
