Job Description

The Analyst will be a member of Visa’s Global Pricing Strategy team. The team plays a key role in shaping Visa’s strategy, focused on driving the strategy and execution of Visa’s global pricing and client deal efforts. The Global Pricing Strategy Analyst will support various projects related to Visa’s pricing strategy, deal negotiation with financial institutions and merchants, and broader corporate initiatives, including collaborating with business lines across Regional and Functional areas. Specific projects will vary greatly in sponsor, business or strategic focus, depth, and stakeholder served, ranging from broad coordination efforts across multiple regions and/or functional areas to focused assignments for senior management that are of particular high strategic importance to Visa.

The position requires the ability to apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve business problems, and quickly arrive at recommendations that drive corporate priorities.

The Analyst will report to the Vice President, Global Pricing Strategy, and will be based at Visa's offices in Foster City, California. However, the position offers flexibility to work in Visa’s offices in San Francisco or Foster City.

Specific responsibilities include:
 

  • Identify, prioritize, and execute the activities required to support Visa’s corporate strategies, priorities, and special initiative projects.

  • Develop rigorous, fact based, quantitative and qualitative analysis to support recommendations. Ensure strategic and financial soundness and alignment for any recommendations

  • Develop, structure and drive incentives for routing and acceptance agreements with merchants and acquirers in partnership with sales team

  • Identify implications of data and analysis with the team, articulate recommendations, put action plans in place and drive progress

  • Work within cross-functional and cross-regional project teams to solve corporate business problems, collaborating and coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of business issues.

  • Create data presentations & dashboards to support data driven decision making

  • Communicate recommendations to management, other executive, functional, or regional staff and management in a clear, concise and impactful way

  • Build and maintain business landscape knowledge, to provide solid foundational context for critical strategic projects.

  • Participate in continuous training with strategy teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from top-tier institution or similar academic / professional experience

  • 2 to 4 years of experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm McKinsey, BCG, Bain or at the Corporate Strategy practices of LEK, Deloitte Consulting, PwC, KPMG, Accenture, EY, Booz Allen.

  • Exceptional analytics and problem solving skills and ability to prioritize issues and analysis.

  • Strategic thinker with ability to evaluate ideas and proposals within broader company objectives

  • Ability to work independently, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to build rigorous, fact-bases that support recommendations to senior management or regional management. 

  • Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with functional and regional leaders within Visa
    Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
  • Advanced user of excel and power point
  • Commitment to continuous training and openness to an environment of active developmental feedback and coaching from peers and managers
