Job Description

 

1. Purpose

Lead grow acceptance strategies through relationships development with Financial & Non-Financial acquirers and Third Party Agents (ISOs, Payment Facilitators, etc…)

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

a. Develop relationship and business development with acceptance players

b. Align objectives, priorities and resources between Visa and clients,

c. Promote Visa as the preferred partner to do business

d. Deploy the Visa Value Proposition by offering a suite of products and solutions

e. Achieves business grow volume and profitability for the company.

f. Understand customer objectives and provide business solutions to generate sales & profits.

g. Conducts strategic business reviews.

2. Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Area

Deliver revenue, volume and market penetration objectives.

Customer engagement at C levels and develop a joint vision of their business demonstrating the Visa value at any time.

Develop productive relationships at all organizational levels within the clients.

Develop Strategic Account Plans with aligned: Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures for assigned customers.

Develop Strategies and Plans that boost electronic payments adoption;

Collaborate with other business functions in order to develop custom products for Mexican market.

Develop as required a Visa products and solution implementation plan for each acquiring customer.

Develop his/her own skills as well as that of his/her reports and others within the organization.

Define specific thresholds for the different business indicators based on client’s capabilities and market conditions.

3. Strategic Nature, Mgmt Accountability, & Scope

Role will be responsible for develop a business relationship with the key acquiring business clients of Visa Mexico. As a B2B company, it is key for Visa to develop a strong relationship and enhance the Visa value proposition to these clients leveraging the emerging new payment technologies and new Visa products.

Understand, evaluate and conceptualize the implementation of the Visa products suite to the acquiring business partners.

Develop a competitive offer and a value added proposal to the merchants through the acquirers in order to increase the payment volume and transaction volume.

Develop a strategy to enable electronic payment acceptance channels through the acquirers and Third Parties business.

Develop partnerships with the acquiring businesses in order to address the market needs and new payment technological trends (e-commerce, NFC, others).

4. Decision Making & Complexity

Ability to work independently and engage multiple levels of management in key decisions where required for the business.

Ability to deploy and execute complex tasks based on a strategic plan.

He/she is expected to recommend over strategic and tactical matters for which he / she is responsible for and escalate the ones that require senior management involvement.

Needs to maintain adequate balance between Visa and client priorities.

5. Financial & Organizational Scope

Position will be responsible for managing the client’s incentives budget as well as his/her own T&E budget.

Also will be responsible to develop the required business case based on NRY and budgets as required.

6. Reporting Relationships & Interactions

Position will directly report to the Business Development Director in Merchant Sales and Solutions of Mexico.

He/she will interact internally with Products, Marketing, Acceptance, Risk, Operations, Government Relations  and Regional/ Global teams.

Externally the position will interact with several stakeholders at different levels within clients: General Managers, Directors and Managers

8. Minimum Required Experience

·         Bachelor degree

·         5+ years of business experience

·         Experience working with acquirers or other acceptance players, can be external, internal or final consumer will be a plus.

·         Experience defining, implementing and strategic plans.

·         Experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance including P&L responsibility

·         Fluency in Spanish and English

9. Preferred Experience (there needs to be a difference between section #8 and #9).

•    MBA desired

•    Experience in sales process and sales roles.

•    Knowledge on new payment technologies, contactless, ecommerce and fraud management will be a plus.
