Job Description

Visa is seeking a highly motivated individual with payments experience or interest in payments to join the Visa Business Solutions (VBS), Large Middle Market Team (LMM) sales team. The Business Development Analyst is an internal support position and is ideal for a candidate that desires to learn or further their experience in the commercial business, work with Visa’s financial institutions and partners, interact with clients and eventually advance into an account manager position.  The Business Development Analyst is responsible for supporting the LMM team in the delivery of support and services to financial institution clients, partners and prospective clients. The Sales Support Analyst will participate in developing strategies that position the LMM business to shape and capitalize on emerging customer and market needs. Responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with LMM team members in the preparation and delivery of materials, reports and analysis for client facing presentations including Quarterly Business Reviews, Business Planning Sessions and introductory meetings with clients.

  • Support the LMM team by utilizing data analytics in support of growing business and deepening relationships. Including use of internal Visa systems such as GBI, MARS and other Visa systems to pull data and track performance.

  • Extensive collaboration and teamwork with key internal Visa partners including VBS global teams, Finance, VC&A, Product, CSS, FI AE’s, and Merchant Sales & Solutions to execute sales plans and strategies.

  • Monitor, forecast and report on the quarterly results of the LMM clients and support the team with preparation of materials for quarterly executive level presentations

  • Manage and monitor the content on internal SharePoint site for the LMM team

  • Support the broader VBS team and represent LMM team in tradeshow coordination and preparation of client facing events including pre-communication, scheduling meetings, and follow-up communications

  • Collaborate with the VBS Product team to refine client facing QBR materials and the communication of the solutions and materials to the VBS LMM team and customers

  • Monitor, distribute and track leads generated through Visa.com, tradeshows and other outbound resources

  • Continuously review competitive landscape and report on new developments that impact the delivery of Visa services and solutions

  • Review and understand go-to-market approaches in verticals, coordinate delivery of information to internal and external stakeholders when needed

  • When required support team with product demonstrations and access to Visa products and systems i.e. Intellilink, VPA, Sharepoint, MARS

  • Interaction with finance including presentation of materials to executives when required

  • Build expertise in Playbook/Salesforce.com and champion its use for the VBS team

  • Provide market and sales updates as requested. Collection and delivery of weekly reporting for distribution to VBS team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Highly motivated with an interest in sales and account management

  • Experience with financial analysis is a plus

  • Position requires a minimum of 5 years business experience with related Visa experience, sales or analytics experience in the payments industry

  • Exceptional ability to coordinate internal and external resources and nurture cross-functional relationships

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Ability to identify and resolve work flow issues and refer unusual problems to appropriate specialist or manager for resolution

  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with high level of success/achievement.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Superior ability in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Visa systems preferred.

  • Based in California, in either SF or Foster City
