Visa processes 100s of millions of payment transactions per day and has one of the world’s most valuable data assets. The Visa Data Product Development organization (DPD) has the mission of Unleashing the power of Data to drive global commerce.  The Merchant Data Platform team is responsible for the architecture, strategy, design and development of Visa's merchant data repository to enable insights for various different business products including Risk, Commecial and Loyalty and Offers.

As Sr.Software Engineer, you will take a lead role in owning and delivering multiple components within a team that develops platforms, tools and frameworks required to ensure overall operability, resiliency, performance, and capacity of business services. You will be building components involving event instrumentation, event classification, multi-protocol event handlers, stream processing, pipelining, time series data aggregation and big data analytics.

Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, document and implement new systems, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing Data Pipelines with code that complies with design specifications and meets security and Java/J2EE/MapReduce/ Spark/Scala. Coding must adhere to all standards for security, be easily maintainable and have high system
  performance.
• Have a passion for delivering zero defect code and be responsible for insuring the team's deliverables meet or exceed the prescribed defect SLA. Coordinate the team's design, development and testing activities, including conducting peer code reviews in addition to contributing to core product.
• Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to best practices, standards and processes.

Qualifications:

• BS with masters or equivalent in CS or related field
• 5+ years of experience in data ingestion, transformation, data modeling, designing solutions and systems
• Expertise in PL/SQL, hive, pig , at list some RDBMS sysetem
• Experience in Big Data Solutions architecture using technology such as Spark, Kafka, Flume, Akka
• Hands on experince on Java, Maven, Gradel, Junit and CICD frameworks
• Process oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Hands-on experience in Unix will be good
• Previous Agile/Scrum experience - a plus
• Prior experience in analytics in merchant domain is a plus
