Job Description

As part of the Global Product organization, the Data Products team is looking for a Data Analyst who is passionate about innovating and delivering high quality, differentiated data solutions that enable data enthusiasts and analysts find and use correct data and definitions. Who, provides data insightss and curation for appropriate collection, evaluation and application of the data.

Global Data Products team is fueling Visa’s ability to do so with data as a key enabler. This presents continuous opportunities to work on strategic and innovative data products that identify new opportunities/ threats, and guides strategies for Visa and our partners.

We recognize the need to curate various internal and external data sources and present with context for reliable, accurate insights development and visualization. Data analysts will enhance our competencies in this area, working closely with technology and business data stewards.

You are a skilled and passionate individual, who likes using your problem solving skills with intellectual and analytical rigor to.solve significant data challenges. You enjoy working with global partners to increase the understanding around use of new and enriched data for analysis and business insights development.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with analysts and data stewards to define and implement strategies to improve the understanding about the data usage, as it relates to sources, quality and enrichmnet opportunities. You will be,

  • Leading projects or initiatives requiring data manipulation, blending, and analyses of large data sets, remediating complex and varied data anomalies in system data; using tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, SAS, Python, R) to extract data from multiple systems.

  • Leading projects requiring expert knowledge of data structures and business rules, and the application of data quality standards.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in data managementt or analytics. Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results. Ability to work closely with other team members and key stakeholders in technology, product and the rest of the business.

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related job experience required.

  • Two (2) years’ experience in SQL programming and data analysis.
  • Experience with data mining tools.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Microsoft Word) to create database tables and reports.
  • Must work well in highly collaborative, matrixed and team oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communications skills - capable of developing well-structured communication.
