Job Description

The ideal candidate will function as a Data Virtualization Developer, implementing the architecture, access restrictions, business logic and metadata in a new environment. The ideal candidate shall be an expert in creating views and tuning queries in Denodo, including queries federated across different database technologies. The candidate will understand the strengths and weaknesses of various Denodo architectures, and have experience in implementing the tool from conception to production. An understanding of Master Data governance and metadata would be a good value add.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Design a view architecture to balance specific business requirements with reusability
  • Define roles and privileges to manage user access to appropriate data sources.
  • Use business requirements to document clear and concise technical design.
  • Maintain design and naming standards
  • Create and tune view SQL
  • Contribute to project planning discussions, provide status updates for development progress and be a critical resource for issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years developing and tuning SQL.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Banking or financial experience
  • Expert knowledge of SQL
  • Expert knowledge of Denodo, including view architecture and performance tuning in federated environments
  • Extensive experience with Hadoop, DB2
  • Should have worked in Agile methodology
  • Ability to write clear design and process documentation.
  • Experience with Microstrategy and Tableau
  • Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow clear methodologies for troubleshooting and development.
