Job Description

The Senior Director, Information Governance will be a leader in Visa’s growing Global Privacy Office. Reporting directly to Visa's Chief Privacy Officer, you will develop a long-term information governance strategy and be responsible managing a growing team of professionals.  Additionally, will be responsible for providing day-to-day privacy information governance support to a cross-functional group of executives in support of Visa’s business growth and innovation strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain procedures for PIAs/ DPIAs; act as privacy partner for all PIAs/ DPIAs; risk assess all PIAs/ DPIAs
  • Develop/ maintain data inventory/ map procedures and artifacts
  • Develop/ maintain rules for sharing data including among Visa teams and 3rd parties
  • Develop/ maintain data usage rules for internal staff including who has access to PI, how PI is accessed, and exceptions (e.g.,  least privilege)
  • Develop Privacy-by-Design (PbD) education and guidance; embedding PbD into the Development Process
  • Design and implement privacy engineering program, aligning with security architects
  • Support Visa Data Use Council (VDUC)
  • Coordinate with Visa data scientists to support data analytics/ strategy
  • Support Information Governance Committee

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (and advanced degree preferred) in Business, Marketing, Public Policy, Political Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited college/university with strong academic credentials
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in Information Security, Big Data, Legal, Risk, Compliance and/or related field
  • CIPP/CIPT/CIPM Certification or similar strongly preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience with privacy regulatory requirements and compliance issues in at least one of the following areas: PCI/GLBA, GDPR/EU Data Protection Directive, US State Privacy Laws, or other international privacy/data protection regulations and requirements Knowledge of incident response and crisis management processes, and third party risk management considerations

  • Superior analytical, problem solving and writing skills, teamwork
  • Executive presence with strong people skills with proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal clients at all levels of management and work on cross-functional teams on complex deals.
