Manager, Global Security Operations and Protective Intelligence

Job Description

The Manager oversees the execution and enhancement of the Company’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) protocols and training. Moreover, the Manager works with key stakeholders both within Global Security and elsewhere in the Company to identify needs, establish requirements, and provide timely, effective analytical products.

Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: 

  • Perform as the operational Manager for the GSOC in Ashburn, VA including the development and coordination  of new and/or revised procedures, directives, and guidelines; train GSOC operators to proficiency

  • Monitor and identify geopolitical developments, incidents, and trends that could affect the security of Visa's interests around the world through Visa’s Security Risk Management System (SRMS)

  • Initiate and provide sophisticated, concise analysis at the tactical and at the strategic levels, using a variety of sources of information (internal and external) pertaining to specific countries or geographic regions and/or functional topics

  • Inventive approach to creating reports and mapping incidents using a visualization system (SRMS)

  • Creative use of infographics in products

  • Interface with regionally-based Global Security Directors and business units to develop a thorough understanding of Visa operations in specific areas; craft products relevant to these functions

  • Align activities and integrate analyses into relevant Global Security functions including Executive Support, Travel Security, the Global Risk Monitoring program, the Expatriate Safety Program and the Site Security Review process

  • Support and provide advice to Executive/Event Support Team members to ensure mission success  

  • Work closely with senior staff to identify and develop strategies for improvement in intelligence functional areas

  • Evaluate and track Gatekeeper reporting trends (suspicious or threatening letters, packages, emails, phone calls and visits) and Persons of Interest (POI)

  • Accountable for case management, data entry and maintenance of Protective Intelligence records and files

  • Perform proactive research/data mining using open-source methods, such as social media, blogs and forums; oversee relationships with existing 3rd party intelligence providers 

  • Responsible for product development, enhancements, and limited daily SRMS data entry

     

     

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years’ experience in an analytical function, authoring reports that provide stakeholders actionable insights about security concerns

  • 3+ years’ of Protective Intelligence, Risk Analysis, POI evaluation, and trend-spotting experience

  • 3+ years’ operational management experience in a Global Security Operation Center, Emergency Operation Center, Command and Control Center or similar security and intelligence center operation in a corporate environment

  • Capability to travel internationally

  • Excellent training and project management skills

  • Ability to create a network of sources for internal benchmarking and analytical research

  • Flexible work schedule, able to work and take calls days, evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary

  • Must pass criminal background check
