Company Description

The Finance Manager is a key member in the India & South Asia Controllership team and will help manage the
Controllership and compliance function for the Bangalore Technology Centre. The role is responsible to process, coordinate, analyze and review financial data to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all inputs/outputs, and to maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GAAP), statutory financial and tax laws and corporate policies. 

In addition, the role is also responsible for ensuring that business processes, payments initiated across the
assigned territories are operated in an effective and compliant manner, and are in adherence to established policies and procedures. The role works collaboratively with the controls functions (especially Hub- Controllership, Compliance, Treasury, Tax, and Legal) and with various Technology functions to implement and maintain a robust controls framework, provide training on corporate policies and procedures, and will liaise with stakeholders on remediation actions required.

This role reports to the Country Controller to maintain activities and processes that allows the Business to run effectively and efficiently. This role will be supported by Associate accountant and compliance partner in the
performance of his functions.

Job Description

  • India GAAP and US GAAP reporting for the India and South Asia entities in India, which inter alia requires a thorough understanding of the Ind AS and disclosure requirements, Internal Financial Controls framework for India GAAP, understanding entity rollups for management reporting and a thorough understanding of the corporate accounting policies and procedures.

  • Provide oversight of finance operations (accounts payable and employee reimbursement processing for Technology center employees including vendor risk assessment reviews and employee reimbursement post-reviews), guide employees to comply with / administer T&E policies.  Ensure timely redressal of questions and queries raised by employees and reviewers. This will require a good
    understanding of the T&E policies, related tax regulations including GST /WHT and procedures relating to foreign remittances etc.

  • Good understanding of other tax requirements for the India entities, viz. GST exemption / refund process and corporate tax assessment processes.

  • Deep understanding of the regulatory and compliance requirements for SEZ which inter alia includes monthly / quarter / annual returns and documentation for inward and outward movement of goods within SEZ to ensure that Technology Centre is compliant with all regulations. 

  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Oracle Financials, Ariba and Concur. Ability to learn and use other reporting tools in order to extract reports that assist in higher work productivity within the function.

  • Support monthly / quarter close, prepare and analyze accounting entries, reports, schedules, account reconciliations to assure the integrity of the financial database, accuracy of processed transactions and to support management reporting. 

  • Key participant in the continuous controls monitoring process for Bangalore, which includes review of work statements and purchase Orders, closure of purchase order etc. and supporting business needs while ensuring policies and procedures governing such engagements are adhered to.

Qualifications

Professional

  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting /Finance (or related fields), CA or equivalent.

  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of relevant experience across accounting, tax, regulatory and business controls / audit with demonstrated progression into higher responsibilities.

Technical

  • Conversant with integrated accounting applications /ERP preferably Oracle

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint presentation

  • Conceptual knowledge of financial databases


Additional Information

Business

  • Experience working in an US or European MNC with a matrixes functional structure would be
    ideal

  • Fluency in written and spoken business English

  • Proven experience with STPI/SEZ/EOU compliance designated facility is essential

  • Ability to work well under pressure; strong problem solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent inter-personal skills and a proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships at all levels.
