Job Description
We are seeking a senior paralegal with at least seven years of experience to maintain and support our
international legal entities, primarily in the Latin America and Caribbean region (LAC). This position is based in Foster City, California.
Responsibilities
- Support the Corporate Governance and Entity Management Legal Team in all governance matters and
management of legal entities in the LAC region. - Manage Visa’s corporate structure in LAC, including legal entity formation, merger and dissolution
processes, and ongoing compliance with local legal requirements. Draft and review documents related to entities in LAC, including formation documents, board and
shareholder meeting minutes, and other compliance documentation.Coordinates and project manages numerous stakeholders across all levels of the organization to
effectively collaborate on key projects.Pro-active planning and coordination with cross-functional team to effectively support the corporate structure.
Maintains legal entity records, including minute books, for entities in LAC.
Manages outside regional counsel on legal entity matters.
Assist where needed in other aspects of the Corporate Legal Team.
Qualifications
- Minimum of seven years of experience in entity management at
either a top-tier law firm or in-house.
Multinational and international experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to details are essential.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to be responsive and flexible in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Excellent problem solving skills, takes initiative and has a client-focused approach.
A team player who has strong interpersonal skills to work on cross-functional
teams in multiple jurisdictions, across different time zones.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Licensed, or willing to be a, notary public.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Experience with entity management databases a plus.
