Microsoft SQL Server DBA

This role is an individual contributor responsible for applying skills and knowledge to perform specified support functions. As a DBA with SQL Server Database experience, you will be involved with supporting all Visa's MSSQL systems. Primary duties will include, but not limited to, the design, implementation, problem analysis and resolution, successful deployment, ongoing support, and continuous operational improvement of database technologies used at Visa. The individual should be well versed in database administration and engineering practices and principles. The individual will share the responsibility of overall database support in various MSSQL environments used by different business lines. He or she will provide technical influence and subject matter expertise for the database team.

As a Visa DBA, you will be expected to involve in daily administration tasks including backup, restore, security compliance, monitoring, problem resolution, as well as participate in maintaining MSSQL lifecycle at Visa, engineering enterprise backup/monitoring/alerting/security/encryption/high availability/disaster recovery solutions to support MSSQL technology, and designing a database system that meets applications various requirements.

• Must have Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences or related field
• Must have 5+ years of experience in MS SQL DB Administration
• Very good experience installation, configuration and maintenance of SQL Server
• Experience in working with Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016 technologies in a transaction intensive, high-availability clustered environment. An in-depth knowledge of all areas of SQL Server 2012/14-security, monitoring, performance tuning, auditing, backup and capacity planning is required
• Designs and builds high-volume relational databases for applications and systems and define strategies for data acquisition, recovery, migration and archiving. Ability to understanding of complex data, data flows and replication
• Performance tuning and write code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures, views and triggers. Experience with several large and complex SQL databases
• Leading the release/upgrade process for database growth
• Strong infrastructure knowledge
• Extensive exposure moving large databases to new higher capacity servers. Configure, implement and maintain database synchronization, replication, backup and recovery
• Monitor user and system activity logs and maintaining data integrity for mission-critical databases
• Technical knowledge on High Availability Solution using log shipping, DB mirroring and AlwaysOn
• Knowledge on Performance Tuning and monitoring tools such as SCOM, IDERA, etc.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, a good team player, demonstrate ability to work in a complex organization to understand business and customer needs, providing solutions to meet those needs.
