Hoppin’s mission is to enable people to meet from wherever they are and discover amazing real locations and events together. We are making this possible with our revolutionary Social VR platform, where visitors meet and interact as avatars in 360° video and spatial sound, enabling public showcasing and business presentations.

We’re looking for an experienced developer to partner with us and lead the evolution of the VR application, WebXR channels, streaming services and management interfaces.

Hoppin’ was first released on the Oculus Go, is now on SideQuest and awaiting approval for the Quest Store. It is built using Unity and C#, connecting to MongoDB, streaming from AWS and reporting through Kibana. Proof of concepts of the WebXR channels and management interfaces are also live, using standard web technologies.

What You Bring

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
3+ years of experience coding in Unity and C#
2+ years designing and implementing cloud infrastructures
1+ years experience managing other developers and project planning
An optimistic and open-minded attitude
Ability to collaborate effectively with a remote team
Proven ability to work across multiple functional areas including product management, customer experience and business development
Efficient development skills with a proven track record of delivering robust software solutions

Hoppin’ is a remote-first company, based in Montreal, Canada.

On a day to day basis, you will participate in the design of the upcoming features, define the necessary supporting architecture, plan and lead development in an agile environment. You will contribute to the hiring and management of new development team members and consultants. You will be responsible for successful product and customer feature releases in scope and quality.
