JOB PURPOSE

Perform professional strategic transportation planning tasks and participate in developing integrated short, medium and long-term multimodal transportation plans and systems

KEY RESULTS and ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Participate in deriving and updating Client's multinodal sustainable transportation system plan that can support the growth requirements;

• Participate and managing transportation planning studies conducted by others including transportation master plans and traffic impact studies and make sure of aligning the results to the strategic transportation plan;

• Participate in planning major road and public transit systems and networks in light of the strategies and goals;

• Analyze the results and issues raised by business entities that monitor the implementation of transportation plans and recommend required countermeasures;

• Identify various transportation planning problems and identify studies needed to solve these problems, draft terms of reference for the same "as needed", and follow up the implementation of these studies;

• Conduct international benchmarking and studies related to different transportation planning issues develop and present solutions as needed;

• Participate in urban and transportation planning activities and in the efforts of integrating land use and transportation plans in order to optimize the efficiency of the planned transportation system;

• Check planning layouts and engineering designs of public transport lines and facilities (stations and stops) to ensure meeting the integration requirements, First and Last mile, pedestrian and cycling plans and share modes.

• Prepare and present technical information and reports to a variety of audiences;

• Master’s degree in Transportation planning from a recognized university.

• Minimum 8 years relevant experience in multimodal transportation planning related fields.

• Fluent in Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking.

• Excellent knowledge in conducting and reviewing different types of transportation planning

  activities, developing, and evaluating integrated multimodal transportation scenarios and systems. 

• Knowledge of the procedures of preserving and protecting ROW needed for the transportation system.

• Data manipulation and proficiency in the use of suitable software;

• Computer Literate.
