Job Description

At Viral Nation, we’re building the future of social media. As a UX/UI Designer, you will work closely with your team in high-impact projects that will disrupt the market. You are a skilled storyteller, strategic thinker and a master of your craft. You’re passionate about clean design, usability and performance - understanding the value of consistency, design inclusivity and research. You put users at the core of everything you do by grounding your product design in human centered design methodologies & data to ensure they solve real user needs and are easy to use and scalable.

Your job function will include:

  • Participate in and lead UX/UI activities in a fast-paced Agile environment.

  • Translate findings into usable, effective and efficient user experiences, journey maps, concepts, and visual design

  • Create UI mock-ups, user workflow diagrams, hi-fidelity mock-ups, and clickable prototypes

  • Identify areas of opportunities for clients and solve functional challenges through brainstorming, ideating, and designing digital solutions

  • Work with developers and product managers to understand technical requirements and business objectives as they relate to the designs of the products

  • Manage consistent look and feel across designs, colour palettes, typography, iconography, and user interface elements

 

How You’ll Succeed:

  • End to End Design Process – you can work independently throughout the entire UX/UI design process.

  • Quickly Create Concepts to Communicate Ideas – You’ll create storyboards, sketches, wireframes, designs and prototypes to explore, test and refine potential concepts. This will include translating user needs and business requirements into features and functionality for desktop, tablet and mobile.

  • Growth mindset – You support agile, innovation and change, making sure our designs are fast-paced, scalable and future-proofed. You leverage your deep understanding of visual design principles to help communicate and design systems.

  • Design excellence – You’re passionate about usability and performance – and understand it requires consistency. You collaborate with your team to deliver exceptional visual experiences at every stage in a project’s lifecycle, from concept to creation.

  • You enjoy uncertainty and ambiguity. You understand that to innovate you must be comfortable deciphering what needs to be done next.

Qualifications

  • You’re a master storyteller and creative problem solver. You can drive design objectives and deliver simple, innovative concepts while maintaining brand & design standards.

  • You have experience with design thinking concepts including journey mapping, client interviews, personas, empathy mapping, storyboarding, concept testing, and prototyping.

  • You have demonstrated excellent abilities in:

  • Figma, HTML, CSS3, iOS, Android

  • User-centered design, user testing methodologies, usability, UX research methods, mobile and responsive design, inclusive design, UI Design and accessibility standards and practices

  • You have 2+ years of full-time work experience or equivalent. University or College graduate in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, UX/UI, or related discipline or professional work experience as a UX and UI Designer is preferred
