We seek a results-driven and confident accountant to join us as our accounts payable accounting technician within our Finance & Accounting operations on a contract or part-time basis with an opportunity for full-time employment.

The role of the Accounts Payable Technician involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to our team. Their role is to post supplier invoices, credit card transactions, post supplier payments, and control expenses. In addition, duties include day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.

The ideal candidate is well versed in Microsoft Business Central systems, job/project accounting, full-vendor, and credit card posting and payments cycles. 

We seek a minimum of 3 years of direct accounts payable or accounting experience and have ideally worked within the media, marketing, communications, or entertainment sectors.

Tasks

• Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
• Maintaining historical records
• Paying employees by verifying expense reports and preparing payment to suppliers via electronic funds transfers, wires, or other electronic processing.
• Paying vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor inquiries regarding finance
• Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
• Continuing to improve the payment process

• A graduate from a recognized post-secondary college or university business program, ideally with an accounting specialty
