Job Description
Villa Nautica is seeking a passionate, skilled, and safety-conscious Arborist to join our Landscaping team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health, safety, and appearance of trees and palms across the resort, ensuring our tropical landscape remains attractive, healthy, and safe for our guests and team members.
- Inspect, maintain, prune, and care for all trees, palms, and ornamental plants throughout the resort.
- Diagnose tree health issues, pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, and recommend appropriate treatments.
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, shaping, removal, and planting in accordance with arboriculture best practices.
- Ensure all tree maintenance work is carried out safely, using the correct equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor tree stability and identify potential hazards to guests, staff, and resort property.
- Assist in developing and implementing tree maintenance schedules and landscape improvement plans.
- Operate and maintain arboriculture tools, machinery, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Work closely with the Landscaping and Maintenance teams to ensure the resort grounds remain in excellent condition.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, treatments, and maintenance activities.
- Participate in all scheduled training programs and continuously develop professional knowledge and skills.
- Promote a safe working environment while maintaining the highest standards of environmental sustainability and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Arborist, Tree Climber, Landscape Specialist, or in a similar role within hospitality, landscaping, or horticulture.
- Knowledge of tree biology, pruning techniques, disease identification, and pest management.
- Experience operating arboriculture equipment such as chainsaws, pole saws, climbing gear, and pruning tools.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures related to tree care.
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Good problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Basic English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.
- Relevant Arborist, Horticulture, or Landscaping certification will be an added advantage.
- Physically fit with the ability to perform demanding outdoor work.
- A positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
