Job Description
As a KIDS CLUB COUNSELOR, you should be passionate and ambitious about everything you do. You will have the opportunity to develop your natural gifts and pursue your highest potential in providing extraordinary child-tending services. To be trusted by a child’s parents is no small accomplishment, and we look forward to working alongside you to earn that trust every day and give support to the Sports & Recreation Manager.
- Provide a sincere and loving attitude towards children, showing patience and concern for their wellbeing, and handle any situation calmly and sensibly.
- Keep the play area safe and free from hazards while monitoring children consistently throughout the day.
- Clean play equipment, games, and toys on a regular basis to keep them safe and attractive.
- Keep individual records for each child that include information about his or her behaviors, daily activities, meals eaten, medications received, and other important and mundane details. Discuss this information with each child’s parents on a daily basis.
- Create daily lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate, fun, and interesting. Lesson plans should always encourage full participation by each child.
- Participate in learning activities with the children, including reading, art and crafts, music, and singing.
- Complete administrative duties, including signing children in and out and recording their details and any special needs.
- comply with and uphold all health, safety, and security regulations and procedures.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to difficult or emergency situations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare, camp, or educational setting is preferred.
- Certification in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is advantageous.
- Passion for working with children and creating positive and memorable experiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and parents/guardians.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a remote island setting and adapt to a tropical climate.
