Job Description
Villa Nautica, an exquisite 5-star property located in the Maldives, is seeking a talented and experienced Junior Sous Chef specializing in Indian cuisine. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering authentic Indian dishes that meet the high standards of our luxury resort. The Junior Sous Chef will be managing the Indian section of the kitchen, ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in the preparation of meals. This role is ideal for a motivated and passionate individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to providing exceptional culinary experiences for our guests.
- Must be familiar with all the activities involved in kitchen operations and be prepared to step in and cover all eventualities if called upon.
- Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward.
- Responsible for overseeing the kitchen team members, which will involve preparing, scheduling, and delivering training under the direct supervision of the executive chef and executive sous chef.
- Managing team member performance, ensuring that the kitchen safety standards are up-to-date and that team members are complying with health, safety, and sanitation rules.
- Assist in menu planning, inventory control, and supply management under the direct supervision of the executive chef and executive sous chef.
- Make sure standard recipes are used and food is presented according to pictorials.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of industry and culinary with strong background in all day dinning.
- Previous experience training team members in large-quantity food preparation.
- Excellent knowledge of quality food operations.
- Passion for leadership and teamwork.
- Eye for detail to achieve operational excellence.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Excellent communication in the English language.
