Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing IT, as a Strategic Sourcing Category Manager you will: 

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives related to consumer technologies, the consumer premise equipmentinformation technology projects roadmap, and other related services;  
  • Category Management: Keep category and spend profiles updated, develop, and implement category strategies for consumer technologies to meet our current and future business requirements in addition to managing our legacy environment;
  • Identify and organize cross functional team resources responsible for category and sourcing strategies;  
  • Lead the development of contract strategy and execution: In partnership with Legal and business IT partners and Enterprise Security, lead complex sourcing and negotiation strategies to closure which encompass key program specification and deliver high value.  Develop negotiation approach, fallback positions, acceptable terms, and prepare a legally binding and enforceable documents;
  • Analyzing spend and cost modeling: Proactively tracks industry, actual unit and service cost data that feeds into total cost of ownership (TCO) and RFx, and continual improvement of supplier productivity;
  • RFx Services: Partner internally toLead the development of clear third-party requirements to solve specific business and engineering IT related needs, then own and drive to closure the supplier interface for all sole source, RFIX, RFP and RFQ services; 
  • Preferred Supplier Management: Identify, qualify, and formalize which suppliers are preferred suppliers, and guide sourcing decisions and engagement to them;
  • Supplier Performance Management: Monitor supplier financial strength, proactively track and analyze criteria, ensure supplier contractual adherence, research root cause of issues, own/drive improved performance and manage governance structure to ensure delivery of expectations and compliance with corporate and regulatory policies;
  • Become a trusted advisor to all management levels and to the business through the analysis of data, conducting market research, sharing of report findings and the delivery of sourcing recommendations;
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices and adherence to relevant laws and regulations;
  • Develop and track cost savings initiatives;
  • Support the continuous improvement of Strategic Sourcing process using lean methodologies;
  • Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing activities and efficiencies and work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation.

 

Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 plus years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management and leading large strategic projects,
  • University or post-secondary degree or equivalent practical experience is required; MBA or post graduate degree in a related field would be an asset,  
  • Experience with sourcing of solutions and assets in consumer electronics, or network technologies, or data center,Information Technology is required would be considered an asset,  
  • Knowledge of forming category profiles and strategy,  
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and drafting,
  • Understanding of contract and supplier performance management (statement of work, licensing, maintenance, and service level agreements),
  • Ability to influence change and work with ambiguity,
  • Experience with co-development and introduction of new product(s) with suppliers, 
  • Understanding of project management and agile development methods would be an asset,
  • Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required,
  • Strong financial and problem-solving ability; proven business acumen,
  • Proven ability to perform in a team environment as well manage and lead a cross functional teams,
  • Proven track record of high performance with an ability to,
  • Bilingualism English and French would be an asset.
